Review: Reliable & Essential for Every Oil Change! - Tufoil for Engines is a must-have in our household! This is a regular purchase for my husband—he uses it after every oil change in all of our vehicles, including our 2009 Toyota Corolla, 2019 Ford Expedition, and 2020 Maserati. It helps keep the engines running smoothly, efficiently, and quietly, and we've noticed a difference in overall performance. With Tufoil, we feel confident that our vehicles are getting the extra protection they need for long-term durability. Definitely a trusted and worthwhile product!
Review: Protecting my engines since 1981! - It's thick and sounds expensive. But it's been keeping all my internal combustion engines running well beyond their expiration dates for many, many years. A senior aviation maintenance instructor alerted me to Tufoil. Said that's how his airplane engines stayed together despite high temperature (mostly air cooled) and relative abuse. I mow side-slopes with splash-lubricated mowers with no ill effects! My air cooled VW engine lasted a quarter million miles with only occasional valve renewal. Tufoil is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the slipperiest substance on the planet. I've talked to the engineer who developed it and this is the real thing, PTFE for everyman. The only caveat I know is not to use it in motorcycles with combined engine/transmission lubrication. Mainly because of the clutches. Well, any transmission with synchronizers will suffer also - it changes the friction that drastically. I typically use 8 oz on first oil change (NOT FOR BREAK-IN!) and half that afterwards. I use a corresponding percentage with all small engines. Tufoil not only reduces friction/heat and increases mileage (marginal but measurable) but also reduces ring wear and extends bearing life. What's not to like? We hand our vehicles down to relatives, with confidence and pride, at least partly due to having used Tufoil PTFE in the engines during their time with us.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: can this be used in new cars**
A: Dont use on brand new cars....i would wait till after 2nd oil change

**Q: Is this safe for Automatic transmissions or only Manuals?**
A: From the Tufoil web site FAQ:"Should I use Tufoil in my transmission?Tufoil is too slippery to use in automatic transmissions. The oils in them need to be a bit grabby or the clutches won't work properly. In manual transmissions, about one part Tufoil in ten parts high-grade transmission oil will make them run cooler and shift smoother."J.S. (member of the Tufoil 250,000 mile club)

**Q: Is this an oil additive, and if so, is an oil change required after application?**
A: It's an additive (or enhancer) and should be added at a rate of one ounce of Tufoil per quart of oil at each oil change, after an initial treatment of two ounces per quart (one 8-oz bottle for a normal crankcase the first time you use it).

**Q: How much do you use per 5quarts of oil?**
A: Per Tufoil site: We recommend 8 ounces of Tufoil as an initial treatment when you change your oil. (This would be for the standard 4-5 quart crankcase…less for smaller engines.) After this initial treatment, just 4-ounces of Tufoil added to the crankcase at each oil change is sufficient. The basic guideline would be 2 ounces for each quart as an initial treatment and 1 ounce per quart at each oil change after that.
IF THIS IS A NEW VEHICLE I was advised by developer to allow for 8-10,000 miles of break-in before treating. You can call them with any questions and they are really great! https://www.fluoramics.com/tufoil/tufoil-for-engines/

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Protecting my engines since 1981!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quieted Valvetrain and smoothed idle
*by B***N on February 18, 2013*

I only recently started experimenting with engine oil additives, for purposes of slowing a leak in my wife Acura and smoothing out the idle and valvetrain noise in my 93 Toyota pickup. My first treatment of Tufoil in both vehicles did both, I was amazed how quiet the motor became in the pickup and how much quieter and smoother the Acura's engine became. This almost instant result makes me confident that this is a product that works. I've added it to my other truck, a 07 Tundra, along with my riding mower and other gas powered equipment with no negative effects. I should not that prior to trying Tufoil I did a treatment of Seafoam in the gas/oil/intake, while it did produce a lot of smoke out the tailpipe, it didn't solve any of the above noted issues. For the first treatment, I followed the instructions of 8oz per 5qts of oil, my follow up treatments will be the prescribed 4oz per 5qts. You will definitely want to try Tufoil out if you have a noisy valve train or looking for a smoother running engine. I can't comment on any MPG increases yet, but that's not why I purchased it. PS: Aside from Tufoil, I would recommend using Valvoline High Mileage oil, it has a strong detergent base for cleaning your engine and will help rejuvenate seals to slow leaks. It is also semi synthetic oil for only a few dollars more the the regular oil.
