15 Inch Unfinished Solid Beech Wood Bowl

Very well made. I love the fact that this is made from a single solid piece of wood with no glue joints.I treat it with Boos mystery oil and board wax periodically, just like a good cutting board. At this point it’s basically water repellant and cleans up in seconds. The initial pale beech color rapidly became a gorgeous dark tan.I’m using this as a round cutting board with a ulu to make chopped salads and use it at least once a day. I went with wood because I really don’t want plastic bits in my salad. I fully expect to get a lifetime of use from this bowl. It was a bit expensive, but sometimes you still actually get what you pay for.

Very good quality. I like that it is not finished as I want it to make chopped salads. I put some Boos Block Board Cream on it which gives it a great coat. I didn't want to be chopping in plastic bowls as I've seen the bottoms of some of the bowls they use at Subway. They're all chewed up and I'm waiting to get a piece of plastic in my salad. I guess given a choice I'd rather have a piece of wood?!? But I do plan to watch it closely and sand it down if it gets to that point! Which is something I wouldn't want to do with plastic. The size? I could probably have gone smaller? But I like that I can use this for larger or smaller amounts.

I love this. Do a chopped salad daily. However, I would not know how to maintain my bowl if I had not seen the youtube video from Nutmeg.com. I bought this with the oil to keep my bowl beautiful and healthy! (Yup, I want a HEALTHY bowl!!) :)

These are awesome!!! When we put organic sunflower oil on them the wood grain was beautiful! (we've used organic sunflower oil on everything including decks and it protects, lasts and never goes rancid). We ordered two of the 15 inch bowls and 8 of the salad bowls (9 inch) and so far have used them for pop corn. The pop corn is easy to stir up and stays in the bowl. The craftsmanship is perfect! Life time investment.

This is an amazing bowl! It was expensive though. I do wish they made one a little larger for my purposes.. So far though, I am thrilled with this bowl & highly recommend it.

I was expecting a grey wood color. As soon as I opened the box I was slightly disappointed. It is a beautiful bowl though. I oiled it with a little bit of vegetable oil.

Excellent craftsmanship. too beautiful to put away, so, it sits on the hutch when not being used. Needs to be oiled after nearly every use, but, that's a small price to pay.

It's a beautiful bowl and nice and deep so it holds a large salad! It also looks nice on the kitchen counter filled with fruit.
