... between a German brand that has a long and good reputation and this one
I had to choose between a German brand that has a long and good reputation and this one. Found that tech innovations had surpassed the original technology of my vintage 1977 Gitane and the cheap 100 psi pumps no longer worked in today's modern world. Heard that the "other brand" had shifted the base to plastic which was prone to breaking. This unit is metal at the base all the way. Used to manically pumping 20-30 times in the past, just to achieve 80 psi. i was happily surprised to inflate my tires to 110 psi with just 1.5 pumps.I say the pump is well worth the money even if that point of exertion is the only feature. It looks and feels durable and not like any of that deficient junk coming out of a certain country right now. It also has a very long inflation hose which you cannot see very well in the product photo. That is also a plus.Furthermore (I really do not own stock in the company or know anyone who works there) they contacted me independently to make sure I was satisfied with the item. AND this item arrived in two days after ordering.I cannot find any negatives here, so here goes a rare (for me) 5 star endorsement.

pump head faulty, no reservoir and hard to pump up
This pump was sold to us as "new" but appeared to have several paint chips or dings that were covered up with black ink - seemed to be a used or refurbished pump. Then we discovered that most of the time, the valve head did not work properly. It worked well once or twice, which gave us a feel for the pumping, and we didn't like that feel: it pumped up to a very high pressure very quickly, but at the expense of requiring a lot of force. If you are big and strong and you want a quick pump up to high pressure, you will like this pump. If you are a smaller person, not so strong, you'll want a pump with a reservoir, which this pump does not have. (This pump gives the illusion of a reservoir, because it has a huge housing enclosing the gauge - a housing that could have contained a reservoir - but there is no reservoir.)In the end, we couldn't get the valve head to function reliably. No matter how we put it on a valve, as soon as you started to pump, it would let air out past the valve, and not pump air into the valve/tire. It was very strange and frustrating.Amazon accepted a return request.

Cheap but not too bad
Good basic pump. Better plastic nozzle than some similar schwinn-branded pumps, but not as good as the old metal types. Looks cheap, and interior rubber already looks misshaped. Hose is cheap rubber job, handles are plastic. Nice large gauge is easy to read while pumping. This is a good buy for the money but it will probably not last more than 5 years. Also, the plastic shroud that holds the other tips is a catastrophe. The tips will fall out every time you try and open it. It's just enough for shipping the tips, not useful beyond that.

It seems pretty decent. The gauge is HUGE and easy to read. The head works well with minimal fiddling. It's not quite as heavy as I'd hoped, so it's a little more tippy than ideal.I'll update in a few months after I've had a chance to abuse this thing some more. If it holds up, it will represent a great value.

Works great and easy
Works great, does not feel flimsy or cheap. Great price. Stand-on legs keep it very steady, pressure meter appears very accurate (pressure numbers are on outer wall of bike tire). Was very easy to switch to Presta connector and quick inflation. Watch a video to see how it needs to be flipped or just flip the rubber piece to easily change it to Presta; with a spring connected to the valve (limiting ability to turn it the wrong way) its hard not to quickly figure it out which way is for Presta. Overall, I am very pleased with this, would buy it again, and the price is great.

Gauge does not give accurate reading
This pump is pretty robust and certainly inflates tires without too much of a workout (I use for car tires). However, the gauge is way off. The starting pressure on gauge shows just over 20lbs. I thought I could live with that but when I inflated to 60lbs on gauge in reality it was about 32 - 33lbs on a tire pressure gauge I purchased to check. The end result is that I had buy a tire gauge in order to check reading on pump. A bit of a waste to say the least!

It works well, but required some trouble shooting. It required a few attempts to get the valve attached correctly in order to make the pump work. It does work well once connected.
