Pump works BEAUTIFULLY! Take the fill cap of and push the grease down to prime and you're off to the races. The grease will fill the sprocket chamber and some will exit, so have a paper towel to clean up the purged grease. Great product!!!

I had a similar grease gun before and vowed to get a better one at some point. Every time I used it, it was a pita to operate. I had to keep pressure on it with my thumb while trying to pump it at the same time, which was awkward at best. Anyway, mine disappeared somewhere so it was time to honor that pledge. But......what I found is this type or style of grease gun is about all you are going to get unless you want to spend $30 or more and there is just no way I was going to spend that for a chainsaw grease gun I might use once or twice a year. That said, when I got the new tool the package mentioned it can get air locked? Hmmmmm....makes me wonder if that was the problem I had with the older one I had all along. Although it was just hard as heck to pump...air lock or no air lock, so I am actually glad it got lost. This one operates smoothly and the grease comes out with no problem. The grease seems like some good stuff too. It is very sticky (so wear gloves) and sticks well to the blade so should last a while before it needs to be re-greased. Still, I keep it nearby and like to grease it every now and then depending on how long a session lasts. Better to grease it too often then not often enough. In the end the Oregon grease gun appears well made and so far seems like a good value.

This grease gun came ready to use. It fit perfectly in the grease hole on my chainsaw bar. I would really recommend this product for anyone that works your chainsaws and want to extend your bar. Great product.

Most people, like me at one time, will run their chainsaws for years and never know about grease for the sprocket. Once I learned what the little holes on each side of the blade are for at the tips of the blade of my chainsaws (it is the smallest of the three holes) I give each side a couple of pumps every time I cut. I carry one in my back pocket during the winter to keep it warm and flowing (the grease tends to not want to come out easily at 20 degrees and lower) when I'm out cutting firewood. I alway have at least two or three on hand and a few almost empty. A person can never go wrong with an Oregon product. Quality products and truth in advertising.

Every chainsaw user that has a saw with a bar roller sprocket needs this to keep the sprocket greased. Easy to use and can be refilled. Comes pre loaded with grease. Great value.
