No polishing required. Tin is an extremely slow to tarnish. Made in Canada. We like to use 2-4 tea lights to give the lamp maximum effect. Fits many jar candles, votive and pillar candles. One question we get is do the shades become hot with multiple candles. Our experience from burning 3-4 tea lights for 10 hours the shades to not become hot. It goes without saying that caution should always be exercised when burning candles. There is not an electrified option for this product.
