Perfect -- for limited uses
I have certain clothes that I never dry (sweaters, delicate blouses, wool clothes, bright colored and black t-shirts, etc.). I really was one of those people who had clothes lying all over the house to air dry. I wanted something like this to accomplish the job in one spot. I didn't plan to ever hang anything heavy on it, so comments about not being able to take heavy weight didn't seem to be a problem I'd be having. When I got the unit, the first thing I noticed was three of the shelves were broken (poor manufacturing assembly and probably a bad die casting the plastic assembly on the side of the shelves.) Given how much I paid for the unit, I was not happy. I requested a replacement from Amazon, which arrived about 3 days later. The new unit had the same problem, 3 broken shelves right out of the box. I swapped out all the broken shelves for ones that weren't and swapped out one wheel that wouldn't stay attached on the bottom and got a good set. Amazon was great for working with me in the swaparound, even sending me an email that they got my return product.I like how flat this item can fold up and store against a wall, the wheels fold independently of each other, the shelves fold independently on each side and the hanger holders fold inward too. This unit is probably to big to fit into a standard closet for storage. I set it against a wall and fold down all the shelves when not in use. It helps that it is stored right next to my heater, so it does a good job of drying my delicate clothes. For me, it was just what I was wanting. So far, I've only used one side of the unit leaving the wheels of the other side folded in and shelves of the other side folded in. I have not had any issues with it seeming to want to tip over. It's pretty sturdy having just one side of light clothing loaded on it against a wall.I don't think this unit would do well for drying totally wet towels or denims. It's not that strong. If you are careful, maybe. It would also be good for drying used towels or wash clothes between uses keeping the from getting smelly either for reuse or before throwing them into the laundry. This definitely is not a product to have in a house with kids -- it would be broken in 30 minutes. It is delicate. Use it for delicate items and it works.3 stars for being "usable" for intended us. Taking away use because two stars because BOTH sets I ordered came with numerous broken parts right out of the box. That is unacceptable. If you buy this item, make SURE you buy it from Amazon. It comes with a guarantee from the manufacturer but they charge something like $12 for postage to replace the bad parts (Item is made in Korea.) Amazon will accept the broken item on their own tab. Given the reviews here and my own experience, chances are high you will also get a broken unit. If that's something you want to play the mail game to get a unit like this, at least make it easy with Amazon's no hassle return policy.

Mom of 3 approved. Wasn't sure at first, but it does its job wonderfully! Love this thing!
First, let me say that this is not a sturdy piece of metal, it appears to be junk. HOWEVER, if this was made of heavyweight metal, there is no way it would be able to be designed this way, be able to fold up how it does and be portable like it is. It's not any cheaper feeling than the wooden rack we had. I spent 48 on it, I think it should be on the lower end of 40, but I needed a drying rack and the other one wasn't in stock AND people said it was "junk" too. (minky tower rack) I am able to hang 3 loads of clothes, adults and kids. On the outer rungs, i hang the lighter items because I'm afraid if i don't i'll bend the shelf too much. So, you have to do a balance game how you hang the clothes a bit, if you don't want to stress the rack too much (which i don't because the last thing i want to do is box it up and return it or be out of 50 bucks!) I hang the heavy towels in the center and the lighter items on the outside racks where there is less stability/support. It has not collapsed and actually when I think it's going to crumble to the floor, it's surprised me quite well, how it does it's job! Would i put my toddler on it to check for support? no. lol But, i am perfectly pleased with this rack and I'm happy to have it during the winter months or on days where I don't feel like hanging laundry outside. My dryer broke and we save about 70 a month not using a dryer, so i hang dry all of our clothes. there are some nights where I don't feel like lugging the clothes outside, so I use this almost daily to hang our clothes. We live in california and i was hoping that it would also increase the moisture in our home by having wet laundry drying indoors. Do i wish it wasn't so delicate feeling? yes. but at the same time, it's nice to be able to whip it around to get it out of the way, too. I've had this for a few weeks and use it almost daily, and I would totally recommend this product to a friend. Just don't go drying bowling balls on it and you will be fine.UPDATE: I have used this rack for a few years and it has held up wonderfully, and it still is just as sturdy as the day I bought it! I love this drying rack and have used it daily to dry 2-3 loads at a time! I hand the kids clothes on the bottom and my cats use it as their own personal cabana, because it's like 30 degrees cooler under the rack filled with wet clothes. My cats have jumped on the racks and never broke them. My kids have hung clothes haphazardly on it and it withstands their abuse. I totally recommend this product!

Holy cow!!! Although it takes a little bit of time to assemble - this drying rack is the cadillac of drying racks - tons of space - all completely adjustable - those little orange things at the end are hooks for things like socks, bras, dishcloths, etc. - then there are place anywhere racks for your coat hangers on either side and the whole thing folds away to a very narrow (albeit still tall) drying rack. If you're getting it for the foldability - be forewarned the plastic things are a bit sticky and I could imagine them not being as durable as a metal hinge might be - but if you have the space to leave this extended it can definitely take a big load of laundry. Would buy it again and would recommend it to a friend.
