The long drinking tube disconnects at the bottom the bladder and it has a cover that keeps the bite valve clean. The bite valve could be shut off with a simple twist. The materials seem pretty decent. The pack itself is not very big but it does contain a lot of zippered compartments. A large mesh pouch with straps at the very front could hold a wind breaker or puffer jacket (not big though). The pack has waist straps (narrow, not too comfortable), thick padded shoulder straps (very comfortable), and two chest cross straps. The back plate is slightly stiff to improve ventilation. Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality, functionality and price point of this pack. My only concern is whether this comply provides the same level of post-sale services as other elite outdoors ware companies.
