Very easy installation, looks good, works well to hold a door against wind gusts
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Of all the reviews I've done, this is one of the easier to write.I've been using a faced stone to hold a door that tends to slam shut in the wind, but of course that was a pain, so when I saw this on Amazon it was a no-brainer. It literally took three minutes to install. I simply held the provided template against the door and touching the floor - the template can be seen in the first photo - used a razor blade to mark the three locations to place the screws, then used a screwdriver to install the door stop using the three self-tapping screws provided. (My door is heavy old wood from 1941 and I still didn't need to pre-drill holes.) There's nothing else to it.The up and down mechanism works perfectly, as in the video. The only possible negative is that although it's not really marketed as a security item, on smooth floors like linoleum the door stop doesn't entirely stop the door from moving. It doesn't move with strong wind gusts, but when I do apply firm pressure against the other side of the door I can make the door move. I assume (?) this wouldn't be the case on carpet.BTW, it says it's make in Korea.Anyhow, designed and constructed well, easy to install, looks good, works well, and most of all, such a pleasure to have it in place!

I am the hero.
The ladies at the Senior Center hated it when the door stop on their restroom door broke. (We don't have unisex and all-gender restrooms at the Senior Center...... In fact, we haven't had any demand for it.) As the latrine maintenance volunteer, they blamed me for the inconvenience until I replaced the broken stop with the one-touch door stop. Wow! They had never known such a marvelous door stop even existed. No more scarring the top of their dance shoes (or those large, ugly orthopedic shoes, either). I am the latrine hero of the elderly set.

An Inexpensive Solution for Holding my Gate Open
I just installed mine today. The instructions were a bit sparse, but by holding the template against the door that you want to install it on it was pretty simple to figure out the correct orientation and spacing. Pro tip: it DID appear at first that the top screw was unreachable by a screwdriver whether the stopper was fully up or down; however, you can hold the stopper mid way and it allows fairly easy access to that area. I saw several complaints about the screws that come with the item, but for my outdoor gate the screws were just the right size (otherwise they would have protruded out the other side). When extended, the stopper keeps my gate from closing against a fair amount of force. It does NOT provide much stopping power in the other direction (my gate does not have a spring to close it automatically). However, it is good enough unless there is a stiff breeze. I really like the spring loaded return which allows for foot-only operation. For the price, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

Seems Like a Good Buy
Like the color selection and the option of buying in 1,2,or 4 packs. Bought two pack and installed 1 on a metal door and 1 on a wood door. The screws that came with them were way too small, too short, & inadequate for holding these on as there is a great deal of pressure on the top screw. Plus, they were self-tappers & gold. I bought 3 stainless steel, pan head, sheet metal screws size #10x1-1/4 for the metal door. And, 3 stainless, pan head, wood screws in same size for the wood door. They were the perfect style/size. Only cost an added $2.50 but, I gave only 4 stars for that fax paus. Do have to pre-drill for the metal door. All-in-all, good item and buy (so far).

Failed after 3 weeks
My first review gave this 5 stars - then it pulled loose from the door. The problem is the screws are too short. The screws are barely 1/2" long, and nearly half that length lacks tread due to the 'self tapping' feature. The mounting plate is 3/16" thick, so there is only less than 1/4" of threads holding it in place. That's just not enough.I installed it in a brand new door in my new house. The door is good quality, but, like most modern doors, it is made with composite board. The screws pulled out after only 2 weeks. In order to make this thing work I'll try purchasing longer screws at ACE.

Sturdy, a bit noisy, holds firm
Ordered for my door leading to the garage. It used to have nothing, no closing arm on top and no door stop. But often the wind prevented full closure and our Bishon would dart out to run the desert with the coyotes. My g/son installed the top closure first and I hated it because with my hands full I wasn't able to hold the door open long enough to walk through, and a few times it snapped shut on my arm so hard I feared injury. I ordered this stop, it arrived the next day, and by that evening it was in place. I like how easy it is to push it down, even with flip-flops on, and it's even easier to pop it open by stepping the the lever. Yes, it snaps loudly, but that's minor. The only inconvenience is that on nice days we partially open the garage door and shut the screen door for additional ventilation, but the stop does not reach all the way down unless the door is open all the way. Again, that's very minor. Our garage floor is quite uneven and we didn't realize it until now. I recommend it for heavy doors with extra strong top closures.

Fantastic Product
Every once in a while you come across a product that is not just useful, but literally a joy to use; a product where it is so clear that the designer took care of every little detail, that it's actually fun to operate. Usually, I find that type of craftmanship in tech products and luxury items. I never expected to find it in a doorstop of all things. Not only is this doorstop sturdy and well made, but installation literally could not be easier. The manufacturer designed it so that the cardboard inside the package can be used as a guide when drilling your door. No rulers, levels, or measure tape required. The entire process literally took me 2 minutes, and the finished product works great. I wish this company made more items for my home because if they put this much attention to detail in a doorstop, I can only imagine what they would do with more expensive products.

Well made product but but it will not hold a door if the wind comes from both directions.
Purchased this to keep open the external UPVC entrance door into our utility room which is built into the back end of our garage. Due to its design the foot grips firm when the wind blows in one direction - but when the wind blows in the other direction it has no means of restricting the foot from moving. Very well made and probably very good for internal use but not so good for outside doors.

Does what it advertises
This is easy to install and as our garage door is a heavy fire door I wasn’t sure whether this door stop would work but it does. No matter how wide or narrow I want the door to be kept open the stopper holds it perfectly. I highly recommend.

Ruined my door!
The concept is so good and the metal part is good quality but The screws didn’t hold it on to the door so I had to also glue it in place. Lasted a couple of weeks and when kicked down just sprung off and broke leaving The black plastic back plate still glued to the door! Looks a right mess

the door sticks open in one
far better than ones that have been returned. push garage door open and kick down foot bang, door stops against the chain and this foot holds it there, rock solid against any breeze. press door slighly and foot on lever, foot springs up bang, door free to swing close and lock.

Perfect Upgrade for Office Door
We affixed this to a door leading from the office to our warehouse. It has been a great time saver as we can prop the door open for continued trips or for easy access during our shipping and receiving hours.
