Yes, the weight can swing a bit but as others have said, it isn't difficult to manage around that; for me, I find that it just forces very strict form which I appreciate. The hand straps provided with the rig are adequate for ab work, some pulldown exercises, and some pressdown/extension exercises as well, but you will definitely want to consider a more comprehensive set of handles/bars to really take full advantage of the rigI have exposed beams in my garage which I attached it to but I found it quite difficult to use the strap provided. The beams are 2X6 and while it may be possible to attach the pulley with the strap provided, I found it too challenging for this size beam and ended up using some chain instead (see picture). This did lower the rig a bit and require me to use a shorter stool/bench for my pulldowns (I am 6' 2") so consider this if you have a similar setup, or just using shorter chain would do the trick as well. When doing the pulldowns, 45# plates are most awkward as I need to move my seating position further out of true vertical orientation in respect to the overhead pulley for the weight plates to clear my bench during the reps, but 25# plates and smaller are no problem at allMy standing exercises (tricep work, straight-arm pressdowns, etc) worked perfectly and the swinging of the weight stack is much less of a concern for these as are any clearance issues pertaining to larger weight plates.In summary, it is not as capable as a proper pulldown rack but it operates in a much smaller footprint, definitely gets the job done, and is a great value for the price ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the home gym, but... *by B***T on Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2017* I've had this for a few days, and it's great so far, way sturdier than I expected.The only problem I had was that the cable was too long for my Titan 2x2 rack. The easiest route that I found to remedy this was to run to the hardware store and pick up another 3" pulley, and I had some chain and a carabiner laying around.So with the loading pin and strap at the back of the rack, the cable is run through the second pulley attached to the chin up bar at the front of the rack. This actually left no slack in the cable at all, so it works perfectly and I'm a satisfied customer. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great little unit as my dad would say. *by S***S on Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2017* this is really a great idea. I see some folks found it too low/high for their rack occasionally. I have a rack that should have this problem i really don't know the big deal on that, it could be some specifics, but incase this helps here was my experience: I was easily able to make whatever adjustments i need with other strengthening gear (Carbine/straps). It works great for me. In fact i use the carbine as a quick release to take it off when i don't need it. You do need to place it right so you don't pull your rack over if you keep your rack unweighted (mine doesn't have weights attached to it). That is one thing to keep in mind. All these things are easy to forget about before you order this. But you should be able to make it work. And i say i didn't find it very hard. Sometimes pull downs esp for folks with back issues are a great compliment. Bit most of us don't want a full unit. this is a great little kit that takes no space when you don't need it. I got all kinds of regular lat attachments etcThis is a really great idea and design though. I love cool simple inventions like this. Pretty cheap relatively to buy a late pull down machine and takes no space.The negative. And it really annoys me because it is a blatent corner cut that really would have cost them so little to do the job right. The cable! why can they not cover that in plastic!!!1.) You will get your hair pulled guys come on fix that please. Just be decent spud, i got that it is echo, though add 5 bucks and put plastic on the cable really pretty please with sugar and a cherry on top.2.) an un covered cable will wear much faster.Anyway though great idea works great for me you can buy new cables on line or honestly you can put the entire thing together for cheaper but this is convient. If u try to sub a cable or parts Make you get one design for this though because you don't want a cable snapping or weights falling. Buy from a company with warnings like that you'll probably be ok :)Note you can totally build this your self for a fraction of the price, I like the kit more convenient. Please add the plastic.
