Bought for a neighbor
I'm my neighbor's amazon connection. She tells me what she's looking for and 9 out of 10 times we find it. Well she wanted this certain paint stone type finish. She had bout some long ago and couldn't remember brand but she could describe the color. Took a little looking, but we found this and she said yep! That's it. Well, it came, gave it to her and she painted what she had wanted to paint. She showed it to me. Looks great! Was exactly the color the cap showed. No disappointment at all!

Easy To Apply
The Coarse Stone Texture Paint Is Very Attractive Although An Expensive Way To Paint But It's Beauty Is Second To None. It Took About 10 Cans To Do My Cabinets Which At $7.97 A Can Plus Tax Was Right At $90.00 Dollars. When Using This Product Depending On The Surface Color Of What Your Prepairing To Paint You May Need To Apply A Base Coat The Original Color Of The Cap To Exactly Match The Wanted Finished Product. All Said And Done The Results Will Leave You Most Satisfied. I Highly Recommend.

Was great for "painting" a ceramic bird bath pedestal
This is a very interesting product. It really does look like textured stone after application. My broken/"JB Welded -- epoxy glue repaired, looked better than new after painting. A couple of specific comments may be helpful:1) Waited a few days between coats and no sign of loss of adhesion and very good resulting surface (the stone feature totally hid the small cracks and repair discolorations)2) Sealed it a week later with Krylon clear sealant (helps with weather elements)3) Color, as some have mentioned when it fully dries, it is more Grey Stone texture with some darker bits -- maybe it should be labeled as "Grey Granite"4) Lid was not too difficult to remove -- stuck a screwdriver inside the little opening on the cap, angled it up, inside, to the top of the cap, gave it a quick tap with a rubber mallet, and voila, it popped right off without damage.I gave "durability" 3 stars because, without sealant, I could see weather not being kind to the painted surface. 4 stars overall because of color -- the lighter grey is still nice but labeling is a bit misleading

I redid my countertops with White Onyx...
UPDATE: it's been over 2 years now and the countertops continued to yellow because of the polyurethane sealant to the point where I wish I would have painted the counters in a dark color to begin with. I don't regret repainting the countertops process because it actually works, but with a white color the polyurethane will cause it to yellow and stain over time. If you insist on having lighter countertops you may want to consider using countertop protectors because the polyurethane isn't impervious to creating dark stains, which will show up against a lighter background.SHEER:If you plan on redoing your formica countertops you'll need to sand and then use a couple layers of primer and/or paint for this texture paint to stick to. I thought the White Onyx would be a very white paint in itself and that combined with one coat of primer there would be good coverage. But I discovered it does not have much base white color in it (sheer-ish), and the primer spray paint I used wasn't enough by itself to white out and prepare the dark countertops either (still had some dark show through), so I brushed a white paint semi-gloss which I had laying around on top of the primer to fully cover up my old countertops, deglossed, sanded, and then applied more White Onxy on top. The White Onyx does not have primer in it and is kind of sheer so if you don't have a white surface to begin with, you're definitely going to have to prime or paint it first, or both before you apply it.If you have a good amount of counter space you'll probably need two cans of this product because you'll have to do a couple of layers to get a very coarse texture.SEALING:Countertops need to be sealed to protect against water damage, especially around the sink and in high traffic areas. I did my research and polyurethane is more impervious to water over time than polyacrylic. HOWEVER, polyurethane has yellow undertones to it so when I applied it to the White Onxy, it yellowed it immediately and turned it more into a cream color. I applied a thick cover of polyurethane to completely seal it. I didn't mind the eventual cream color because my kitchen doesn't require stark white countertops, but just keep that in mind when choosing your sealants if you're going for a very white look. Conversely though, I do have the peace of mind that I can place anything on my countertops and they won't be damaged or chip anytime soon, which I probably wouldn't have had had I use polyacrylic as the sealer. There may be some other clear sealing options but I went with polyurethane.Overall I'm satisfied with this purchase and it achieved the results that I was hoping for.I hope this review was helpful, and good luck on your projects!

Not waterproof
Granted I did not check to see if this product was waterproof or not and I know I should have, but I used it to spray paint some lion statues I have outside and it’s been about a week in the paint has completely worn off. Maybe it is not for outdoor use OK. But even when I applied it initially it was very sparse. If you are using this you have to use a base coat of the color that you want the item to be because the spray itself is only the flecks and not a full coverage paint. Personally I feel it is way too expensive for the quality of product.

Must Dry for At Least 24 Hours Before Exposing to Moisture or Rain!!!
Outdoor Precautions: The paint comes out beautiful looking that is surely the positive; however, this texture takes a LONG time to dry. I let it dry for over 6 hours and it "seemed" dry enough to the touch. Then, I left it alone overnight and a light rain came in. When I went outside the next morning every single bit of the textured paint washed off or turned to a paste. I took a garden hose and simply sprayed the paint off with water which came off real easy and left a bunch of granules in the driveway. LESSON LEARNED: Plan your paint job well. Check the weather for at least 24 hours and make sure there is no moisture or rain for at least 24 hours. Dry to the touch is not enough for this paint. Also, application seems to work better on more sunny days rather than cloudy, slightly moist and cool days. While your new stone paint job will look REALLY cool when done, don't let the "dry to the touch" fool you. It is not ready to be exposed to weather. I have used this paint before outside and it held up well when properly dried and placed some clear coat or some sort of poly over it. Be VERY careful when using this or it can turn real frustrating and expensive to have to clean up and start over again.
