Protector Rail Stands for Yaesu FT-891 All-Mode Amateur Radio 100W 857D

These “protector” rails are plastic and flimsy. You can easily bend them with your finger and the edges from the molding have sharp untrimmed edges. At best these are for cosmetic appearance and likely won’t protector the function knobs in transit or in case of a fall. Don’t waste your time or money.

I recently purchased a 891 and I really enjoy it. It’s not sitting on my table in my shack but it’s been sitting on numerous park tables and an occasional dashboard.I purchased a box from harbor freight but the knobs needed some extra protection while out in the wild. I saw these rails and the price was right for two of them.When they arrived I had to purchase 4 screws from a local hardware store. The size is on the side of my radio which was nice.The rails fit just fine and they give me the sense of added security that the face plate with the knobs will not be damaged in my portable use.

These things are plastic. I put tyhem in the trash

Cheap junk doesnt really protect the radio.
