Hurricane Handy
In New York, I lost power for 4 days with both hurricane Irene, then again with Sandy. Since then, I have spent every September looking for spare lanterns and readiness solutions. These are perfect for that purpose, or for those who lose power from time to time. They can be permanently or temporarily installed in a light fixture, where they will fully charge in 8 hours or less. If the power goes off, these come on if the wall switch or lamp socket is in the on position. If fully charged, they last a few hours. It's actually pretty neat. They can also be charged out in daylight, although I understand 9 hours of solar charging only produces a couple hours of light. I have not tested longevity after charging in sunlight. One thing the manufacturer might consider is adding an LED to indicate when the unit is charging, and when it is fully charged. Without this, the user is left to guess what the status of the battery is.Interestingly, you can insert the socket end in water, and a charged bulb will light up, which led me to try a life-long desire to imitate Uncle Fester and light a bulb placed in my mouth. I can now die knowing I achieved that goal.

Excellent for Outdoor Use
I used these at a trade show under a pop-up tent before sunrise. After an overnight AC charge, these bulbs were great for several hours before down. I'm sure they would have lasted longer. The only bad thing about them was that I broke the hook hoof one when I was screwing the switch socket onto the bulb. That part is very flimsy. I replaced it with one from the non-switch socket, with a bit of force - the hooks are not the same. The stems for the hook are larger on the non-switch sockets. Beyond that, no problems with any of the bulbs - I got a total of 8. I am very pleased with the performance and they lit up the area great without any cords. Easy setup!

Bright idea solar! Disappointed after 3 days.
Update review these stopped working after a few days. Disappointed.First review: I like that these have an on off switch. These are nice and bright. Last a good bit of time too.

Crap
Had for two months. Worked great twice then 3 out of the 4 died. No response when pushing buttons. Been outside “charging “ and they still do not work. Very upset that the return window closed last week. Feels like nothing is made to last.

Awesome for camping
I purposely bought these bulbs for camping and it did not disappoint at all. Bright by itself or have a cluster around your campsite. I did not test it to see how long each bulb will last on a full charge but I had it on at least 2-3 hours for 3 nights and the brightness never dull. I haven't used it inside my home, which I am planning to incase of power outages.

Not morning dew proof so don't let them outside over night.
Not water proof so don't let them outside over night. Just the morning dew seems to have killed the light, I can't make it turn back on. The lights are very bright, maybe to bright for a 2 person tent but they are very useful hanging off from the porch or the patio umbrella. We even had them in the tree branches very cute and lots of light for a summer night party. Unfortunately the next day they were all dead because we didn't pick them up at the end of the night. I'll buy and recommend this to anyone with the Warning.

Great Find!
Great Find! These are amazing lights! We were so impressed with how bright they are. the clip on ability makes these lights extremely versatile and can go anywhere. I need to contact the seller because one light quit after just a couple uses, but the others are going strong. My friends want some now too.

Not for use as automatic lighting
Not what I expected. Intended for use in back porch as night lighting. Thought they would store energy each day and shine automatically each night. Guess they would be good for camping....store energy and then be turned on as needed.
