I'm a happy customer
Waited for these to come on the market, and then waited for the first payday I could spare around $20 to experiment. I thought I'd be disappointed, but I am very satisfied so far. It's only been a few days. I couldn't resist trying all three flavors. Again, I thought I'd be disappointed in the Cheddar and/or BBQ. I wasn't. The added flavors come through more on the aftertaste than initially. Also there is a base flavor I've experienced with other gluten-free foods where I'm not a big fan of THAT exact taste, but I like these chips. Because they are new and gluten-free, it's hard for me to gage how filling/satisfying they are, although offhand I'd say they are at least a match for Cliff bars (based on also having Cliff bars over the last few days).I could see eating these for the rest of my life as part of my diverse healthy diet, the same way I'm a fan of Dave's Killer Bread. Although Chirps compares themselves with potato chips, that is a little like comparing orange juice to soda pop. Three cheers for the Six Foods team http://www.sixfoods.com/ ! The backstory is certainly fun and is why I was interested in initially trying this new product. So far ... looks like a winner to me.

compare favorably with other chips
I'm an adventurous eater & was drawn by the sustainability aspect of these chips. I purchased three flavors (BBQ, cheddar & sriracha...the latter was in explicably delivered in lieu of the sea salt) and shared with many people to get their opinions before writing this review. I choose food with higher nutritional value within its category (e.g., I place corn chips in a snack/junk food category & wouldn't compare these with a bowl of quinoa, for example) when possible. In terms of flavor, texture and nutritional content, these chips compare favorably with corn chips commonly found on supermarket shelves. Chia seeds in the ingredient list help boost the fiber and protein of Chirps chips (see photos for direct comparison). The overall consensus amongst those who tried these was that the chips are very good; but some of my friends were turned off my the concept of eating insects (I told them in advance), which is, of course, a cultural phenomenon. All three flavors were well received and the sriracha was only very mildly spicy. Aside from the price, I would recommend them.

They are not super crunchy like a tortilla chips but they are just ...
These are delicious! They are not super crunchy like a tortilla chips but they are just as dangerous to snack on. If I didn’t know these had cricket protien in them I would have no idea because there is no strange taste or texture. So if you want to experiment with eating bugs - this is a gateway snack. The chips are a little smaller than a regular tortilla chip but I actually like the smaller size. It is also a bonus that they are gluten free. I am going to order these again for sure.

These Chips Bugged Me
As a diabetic, I really wanted this to be a protein heavy chip I could love. But it ultimately tastes like it's made of flax seeds or something; The flavor is bland, and the chips taste almost stale. Maybe there's too much carapace in the flour or something, but this one was NOT a winner for me.The bag is also kind of flimsy. One of the packages had popped open along the seam on the back by the time it got to me. I would've contacted Amazon about a replacement, but they were so inedible that it wasn't worth it.

definitely worth a try!
i have only tried the nacho cheese flavor so far, but i am really happy with this product -- will definitely be buying again when this set runs out. as someone else said, they are a bit bland (in that there is not as much powder per chip, although the powder itself is yummy) but i like that because it makes for a snack with overall less salt.the only downside that i can think of is a quibble: they added little black bits so the chips resemble the color/texture profile of tortilla chips more closely; considering the main ingredient, i'm not sure this was a great aesthetic choice but, again, this is such a tiny detail and doesn't detract from how much i like the chips.

Tasty Chips that are healthy too!
To be honest, I thought these Cricket chips were going to taste bad but I was wrong and I actually like Chirps Chips a lot!Of the three pack, my favorite flavor is sea salt. They taste great and are actually healthy compared to other chips. I brought them to a barbecue and the chips were really popular in addition to being a fun conversation topic! (People like to talk about eating bugs lol)I'm definitely gonna buy these tasty and healthy chips again. Just based on taste, I would recommend Chirps to a friend and when you learn they are good for the environment too, it makes the deal even sweeter.

sustainable protein
We were discussing protein sources in class and people eating insects in other cultures. We bought these to try out and LOVED them. They are actually tasty.

Great concept, needs better taste.
A good start for sustainable foodstuffs, but a little ways to go flavor-wise. Taste was okay, but needs refining. Concept is fantastic. But ultimately, it's going to have to taste good.
