Dunlop Picks - Tortex Standard Yellow 0.73mm - Pack 12

I award 50 STARS for these picks! After breaking enough Gibson light gauge picks to keep me in broken picks for the rest of eternity, I have now found in these THE SAVIOUR of the beginning acoustic guitarist (together with Martin SP 80/20 Acoustic Guitar Strings - Bronze Wound Extra (Light, .010 - .047)). THIS IS THE PICK TO END ALL PICKS. Hold this in your hand and feel something that is truly up to the job, both flexible AND strong, and after a couple of weeks of my fairly hard-hitting amateur playing IT HAS SURVIVED. My Gibson light picks broke at around two a day, that was a £1 a day habit, £350 a year. But now striking the strings just feels so much better. Going from Light strings to Extra Light strings made a big difference too (though the D'Addario ones broke the high E on stringing them). AND NOW I can almost play Tangled Up In Blue, probably the greatest popular song EVER. I could not ever imagine a pick being so important but the fact is it is COLLOSALLY IMPORTANT - if your a beginner like me, GET THIS PICK (and check out EXTRA LIGHT guitar strings). IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Who would have thought there is so much to think about when choosing a pick! Anyhow, I did some research and decided to try Tortex picks .50. I'm a beginner, just learning first few chords, and the pick seems perfect. It's got a nice light texture so secure to hold. It has a decent amount of flex with enough rigidity to grab the strings but enough flex to play smoothly. You also get 12 in a pack, which should last a while even with regular playing.

The only picks I ever use!

These picks are great I play Guitar and Bass and these are my bass playing picks I normally use Jazz III's for my guitar playing but for bass I need something a bit more chunky. These are 1.14mm and are just the right thickness for me when playing the bass they are thick enough not to bend while your playing even when pounding on the low E string with heavy fast riffs and thin enough not to feel like your holding a door stop in your hand while playing. The price is super cheap, getting twelve picks for under a fiver is amazing. They are also in a cool purple colour which is great if you manage to drop one on stage or wherever you are playing as they can be easily found unlike black picks. All in all these will always be my bass playing picks and have been used live and for recording and have never let me down ever. Highly recommend.

A really nice and firm pick for those that like to use heavier strings on their guitar. The edges don't ware down easy and last a long time. With it being a pack of 12 then they are going to last along time

I tried other makes and thicknesses until I settled on these. Recommended by a friend who can play and he was right.

I bought an assorted dunlop pack a while ago and tried out different kinds of picks, I found that these were the right thickness for every possible style on my electric guitar, from rhythm to lead. For acoustic, I use the yellow or orange ones, since they bend a bit more and are better for chord strumming. These green ones however are the holy grail for electric guitarists on my opinion.
