After checking the electric motor and replacing the oil, I decided the problem must be that the Kuoyuh 15A reset switch was tripping at less than 15 amps. I searched desertcart for a Kuoyuh 15A trip switch and this was one of several hits. I ordered it and found it fit just right. Both a stainless steel nut and nylon thumb wheel nut were provided to secure the switch - I opted for the thumb wheel because it was easier to install. The Blue Sea switch fit perfectly in the mounting hole, and the wires from the compressor motor fit perfectly on the two contacts. When I turned on the air compressor the motor ran normally again. It charged the tank to 95 psi and kept it charged, an unusually happy ending to a troubleshooting story. I only needed a #2 philips screwdriver to move the black cowling aside to access the Kuoyuh motor overload trip switch, and a mini-crescent wrench to get the nut off the Kyohuh unit. If your Brute's trip switch is tripping often, check the oil level and make sure the drive shaft is free to spin during normal operation, then order this replacement. A small resistance turning the shaft is normal. The switch has a 32V DC rating as well as a 125/250V AC rating. The DC rating is not a concern. Nice trip switch! That left plenty of room under the rated ceiling. The circuit breaker installed easily and worked faultlessly. Soldered the connections without trouble and the system was off and running. I set up an intentional interrupt and then recycled the breaker. It came back on line immediately with no hesitation. This appears to be a good quality breaker that functions exactly like it should. Good quality at a reasonable price. Hard to argue against that kind of performance.
