800 Egyptian Stripe Sheet Set, King, Seafoam

I've waited forever to buy myself "luxury" sheets so when I found this set at this price I wasn't too sure I'd actually get what I had been hoping for. I am THRILLED with these sheets. Firstly they are beautiful, the color is gorgeous, a little softer than what is pictured but really pretty and with the striping, very attractive. Secondly the fit seems good if not a little large. I also have an older, slimmer mattress which could account for some of the added room but the top sheet I thought seemed gigantic for my full bed. Can't say I really mind because as soon as I nestled into my bed I wanted to wrap myself all up in them! They are so thick and weighty in the best, "Hey, you just bought some NICE sheets!" kind of way I really couldn't be happier. It's actually made it harder for me to get out of bed in the morning! Highly recommend for the price, quality, and comfort!

I am not one for writing reviews, however I do feel at times they come in handy. That said I ordered this sheet set that has mixed reviews. As stated they are very high thread count and stiff at first. They also are very sturdy and durable. I had to wash them several times to soften them up but it was well worth the price, the are ABSOLUTELY the most COMFORTABLE sheets I have purchased! Yes they are heavy, yes they tend to be a little stiff but that is what you should expect for 800 thread count sheets...I actually look forward to each night going to sleep because they are that comfortable.

I have bought several sets of Echelon Sheets because I love them so much- (below is a review of the same sheets I bought years and years ago)HOWEVER........TODAY I received another order and THESE ARE NOT ECHELON SHEETS. i could tell from the moment I lifted the package - not heavy like the others. Also, the BRAND "ECHELON" is not even PRINTED on the plastic clear case. I have a case from ACTUAL Echelon Sheets as you can see in the picture. The package I just recieved looks nothing like it. Also, the color is all wrong from I have ordered (this is the 3rd set of ICE BLUE and these are not ice blue.)So basically I got counterfeit sheets. I am hoping I can find the genuine ECHELON sheets somewhere else. VERY VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED.***Review FROM 2017: I am madly in love with these sheets, and cannot count how much money I have thrown away on horrible sheets. These are not flimsy - very sturdy, crisp sheets that are somehow still soft and luxurious. I love these so much that I bought a second set in another color. Extremely affordable since it is the whole set you get for the price, not just one sheet (like some other premium sheets are sold.) I am very fussy about the "feel" of my sheets, and just hate the thin, flimsy ones that feel so cheap. These are beautiful, feel great, and have deep pockets on the fitted sheet. I am getting rid of every other sheet set in my linen closet - these are my new best friends.

Well, these sheets looked just lovely right out of the package, and they still did, and felt wonderful, coming out of the wash, so I was excited to get them on the bed. While they were a bit wrinkly (even though I took them out of the dryer promptly) the fitted sheet was perfect, and settled on just how one would hope; the flat sheet, while not as long as I'd prefer, was still long enough to fold over about a foot on top. So, great! But then I put on the pillowcases, and was dismayed to see that they didn't even cover the full length of my king pillows, although the Cal King (and King) sets are advertised as including king (20x40 inch) cases. I measured one, and discovered it to be roughly 20x32, which is a standard case.Well, it could have been a packaging error, so I started a chat with Amazon customer service, who were great. Since it wasn't obvious whether this was a packaging problem or an error in the product description, Amazon sent me another set (one-day shipping!), along with a return authorization for the first set. Well, the second set came last night, and the cases are the standard size as the others, *not* for king pillows.This is very disappointing, as I really want to use these sheets. But without pillowcases, they are useless. Hell, if Amazon sold just a set of matching king pillowcases I'd buy those and keep the set as is, but no luck there. Now I have to arrange another return, AND keep shopping for more sheets.To sum up: if you're thinking of buying these in King or Cal King, STAY AWAY, unless you only use standard pillows, or you don't care about matching pillowcases. I guess if you're buying Full or Queen size, these would be great, though, and as they did seem like they'd be very attractive and comfortable.Update: After writing this review, I decided that I liked the sheets enough to pull out some standard pillows and use them with the set. But after a couple rotations I got tired of switching pillows, so I looked up the manufacturer online, found a contact email address, and emailed them about the problem. I got a reply the next day (a Sunday!), apologizing, noting that they'd had a packaging problem with one shipment but thought they'd caught them all, and offering to ship me a set of king cases at no charge. I've sent them my address, so we'll see how it turns out. But I'm hopeful that I'll soon be able to update this review to the five stars the sheets deserve.

With respect to the reviewers who found these sheets scratchy, I've just got to wonder if they've slept on quality sheets before. They are definitely not scratchy. They are very crisp, but as a few others have said, this is an attribute of the best sheets you'll find at the best hotels. I bought a set of sheets about 25 years ago that were as substantial as these, and the elastic on them finally went kaput last month (it's worth noting that I paid about $300 for that set, which is not chicken feed now, let alone 25 years ago). I spent a solid week researching online and driving store-to-store trying to find something comparable, and these are the first I've found. For the quality of these sheets, the price is downright astounding. I can't absolutely attest to longevity, as I just bought this set last week, and with substantial sheets like these, I think of longevity in terms of decades rather than years. I'm secure enough with them that I ordered a second set today.
