An engaging read with scores of destination ideas for the 2nd largest country on Earth
Written with colourful imagery and a tangible sense of wandering this book is the perfect book to inspire an adventure. Much easier to read than a guidebook, with just a hint of sarcasm, and a beautiful final note about what makes up a satisfying bucket list.An outstanding gift for adventurers backpacking, planning, or just dreaming of their next adventure.

small but original bucket
It was refreshing to read a guidebook to my homeland that omitted the usual tourist traps and overpriced destinations. Having visited every province and lived in two, I can attest to the authenticity of his list, and was impressed to find suggestions I had not heard of before. All are original and accessible to even those of modest means. My only problem is with the expectations raised by the title. To me, a bucket list implies life-changing, exotic experiences. You will find some of those here, but I respectfully suggest that eating poutine in Quebec or drinking screech in Newfoundland may not qualify. Not to mention playing a round of golf. Each province and territory has more than enough to offer without needing to pad the list, which averages about six items per region. If it had been titled The Great Canadian List of Authentic Travel experiences, I would have given it five stars for genuine Canadian humility!

My husband’s jaw dropped when I gave him this for his birthday. We are now planning our bucket list trip to the Canadian Rockies.

an odd combination of places, etc
I wouldn't recommend it unless you like expensive thrill-seeking trips. Not for the budget-minded traveler
