The issue with this boot is the heel, it's terrible and causes great discomfort and blistering when walking unless you pad it somehow (I used multiple layers of moleskin, and an anti friction shoe patch). The specific area of problem is where the leather turns to farbric on the back of the boot. You can see it in the pictures on the outside. On the inside of the boot at that location there is a ridge due to layering and it runs against your heel eventually causing blistering. NO it does NOT go away after breaking in, I have used these boots for 3 years (bought 2022) and recently took off the patches I put on the heel and wore them without, STILL causes heel blistering after three years of 2-3x weekly wear consisting of marching, hiking, and office work. Belleville have a great concept here and just need to fix the heel area and ankles as well (side ankle areas cause minor blistering too). It's truly unfortunate since other than that, this is the best boot I have had as it treats my foot soles well.
