Hi, I am not dodging the question, but it really is impossible to say at what depth an item can be found on any particular site, as ground conditions change considerably from site to site, beach to beach and even across different parts of the beach. I am sceptical of any testers giving specific measurements in respect of depth, as what they achieve on their site may well be true, but is only relevant to that particular site. Having said that, Pulse Induction detectors excel on all areas of the beach, they are not affected by the salt wet sand as the more common VLF motion detectors are. Pulse Induction technology is noted for its ability to punch into the ground (or beach) and give maximum depth possible. The Garrett Sea Hunter MKII is no exception to this. It is a powerful, well built, waterproof, Pulse Induction detector with a proven track record and is definitely one of the most popular beach machines that we sell. Larger targets are easy to find as they give clear loud signals, however the Garrett Sea Hunter MKII is noted for it's ability to locate those deeper targets, it is all about listening for those faint fluctuations in the background threshold tone that indicate the presence of deeper targets.. the more you work with the machine, the more you will become tuned to these signals.
