On January 20th, 2005 the astronauts and cosmonauts stationed at the International Space Station experienced high levels of radiation due to an extremely large solar flare. They survived, but were forced to watch as the radiation climbed to over ten times the normal level. A high-stress situation demands a high-stress musical adaption; therefore, Solar Flare should be performed from the eyes of the fearful, yet confident, astronauts whose quick thinking and training eventually led them to safety
