Colour Name:Daslight DVC4-GZM 3072CH software: DVC4 GZM and Daslight 4 connectors: Mini USB and RJ45 3-pin and 5-pin XLR memory: unlimited with micro SD card DVC4 GZM: the big one The Daslight DVC4 GZM is the most elaborate of the DVC series of interfaces. You'll have up to 3,072 DMX channels at your disposal, which should be enough to satisfy even the most demanding users. Besides the mini USB connector, the interface also has an RJ45 connector that can be used as an alternative for USB, allowing you to control the interface with your smartphone or tablet when it's in standalone mode. While the Daslight 4 software is free to download from the Daslight website, you'll still need an interface like the GZM to translate its signal so that your fixtures will understand it. This interface has both a 3-pin and a 5-pin connector, so that you can use it virtually anywhere. What's more, it even has a micro SD card slot, allowing you to load even the most elaborate light shows onto the DVC4 GZM so that it can run them in standalone mode on location, without the need for a computer or laptop. Daslight 4: the software This is already the fourth generation of this very popular software package. It's been completely overhauled, and now features a library of over 15,000 fixtures, a completely new FX engine and integrated smartphone and tablet control. As such, it allows for a great, comprehensive way of controlling your lights during live performances or shows. You can create the entire light show from the comfort of your own home. Using a computer or laptop, you can create scenes and chases, and program the movement of your scanners and moving heads. What's more, it's possible to pre-render the entire show for a virtual preview. You can also use the software live, to choose and adapt scenes, making it a highly versatile package. Controlling the software can be done using various MIDI and DMX devices, and it's compatible with iPhones, iPads and Android devices.

Solidly built with no annoying wall wart power supply
The unit does what oit says on the tin and is pretty well built. The manual, as is often the case with goods made in China, is a somewhat hard to follow. Also, the included leads were not of a particularly high standard and the UK mains lead arrived broken. However, I simply grabbed another kettle-type lead and I was soon getting good quality DMX information through to various compatible devices.Clearly, I cannot comment on the long term durability of the product, but as it is coping with DMX rather than audio data, I am happy that it will do the job for me at an upcoming mini-festival.

Perfect simple dmx for standard needs
Works perfectly as expected, same basic unit as other brands so easy to operate and get to grips with. Fast and responsive, does exactly what it’s designed to. Good to see this has an internal power supply so you plug a standard IEC straight into it.
