Well done.
What can u say except she is the queen of angst. Leaves you rooting for the happily ever after no matter how unconventional the road. Brilliantly written.

Passionate, sexy, and heartbreaking!
Oh, what tangled webs we weaveā¦Iām not usually one to enjoy stories about extramarital affairs, but I was intrigued enough to give this one a try. Iām glad that I did, because even though the basic plot bothered me at itās core, I found myself engrossed in Olivia and Davidās torment. It started out on the slow side, and to be honest I found Bill incredibly boring, but then I think that made Oliviaās predicament much more prominent. She was quite simply less exciting and less interesting with Bill, and when David came into the picture she suddenly had more dimension.Lawyer Bill was Oliviaās āsafeā choice in a husband. She wanted security and someone who wouldnāt hurt her, and she got it. But at what cost? They were like a boring old married couple after just 3 years together. She had what seemed like the perfect life on the outside- many close friends, a husband who adored her, and a career that was going places. But when David blew into her life, everything that was wrong became painfully clear. Her friends didnāt REALLY know her because they didnāt know how to see the real herā¦David did in a matter of a few interactions. Bill adored her but didnāt know her well enough to care what truly made her happy or how to give it to herā¦David did it with little effort. Now, there was never a point where I was okay with Olivia breaking her marriage vows to be with David, but Jessica Hawkins definitely succeeded in making me wish Olivia would choose a better life for herself, because she just wasnāt really living. Everything in her life was so stagnant and routine that you canāt help but wish the captivating and intriguing David would reach in and shake it all up!Olivia and David had that instant connection, like a spark between soul mates that meet for the first time. She FELT him when he came into room, like her very soul knew itās other half was nearby. She didnāt buy into it being anything more than attraction at first, and I applauded her for questioning the decision to leave a marriage and life behind just for sex. I think deep down she knew it was more, though, and David was so torn between proving it to her and respecting her wishes to remain plutonic. They hurt each other in the process, but it was such an enticing game of cat and mouse!!I have to say, what really sold me on David was his reaction to Olivia being in danger when an old case of Billās came back to haunt them. He showed the depth of his feelings for her when even her own husband seemed relatively unaffected, and it made me wish things werenāt so incredibly complicated for them. I wonāt tell just how far things do end up going between these two, but I will say that the chemistry between them is fabulous and I was surprised how much I wanted more!!I ended up really enjoying this story despite the slower pacing, and some of the chapters were really hard to pull myself away from! Be warned, a major cliffhanger will leave you itching to grab up the sequel Come Alive, which I fully intend to do very soon!!Quotes:In this setting, between the jazz and the wine, I wondered how pure his intentions were in asking me to meet him. The dimly lit club was sensual and private, ideal for clandestine encounters. ~ Olivia, Loc 760I had begun to crumble under Davidās command, and I couldnāt help but feel like one of his projects. Was the deconstruction of my very being intentional? ~Olivia, Loc 1856āYouāre always saying everything is fine, even though itās notā¦Does anyone care enough to question whether or not you are fine? ~David, Loc 3049

Buckle up to some really intense angst!
š§ Audiobook Review š§If you follow my reviews, you know that cheating isn't something that attracts me in a book. But that will apply to books where the H or the h cheat at each other, out of the blue, or after they're together. This book didn't denies that, since the blurb (or the trilogy name), it's a book about an affair... So I knew before hand that it would have cheating or at least a love triangle. What I didn't expect, was to root so badly for the homewrecker šššš I mean... Come on... Who wouldn't lust for David Dylan? This first book is a huge slow burn between Olivia and David, where they tiptoe around their undeniably connection, and both struggle with it, because she didn't want to cheat on a good husband, and the life that she believed was her forever, and he truly is a good person, who doesn't want to have an affair with a married woman. But as they start to know each other, their connection becomes much more than just lust and physical attraction, and I honestly can't wait to see what the next book will show me.She have so many things locked up inside her, that I'm scared at the moment she will explode with every pain that she's holding!I couldn't stop listening to this book, and since I'm listening to the box set, I'll be right back to it!The narration is by Andi Arndt, and she did an amazing job here!

Love David Dylan
Olivia is one those women who looks fairly put together and content on the outside with her cookie cutter life, when in fact, she is anything but on the inside. She has a loving husband Bill, supportive friends and a great job. While she is a fun person to be around, she is detached and closed off, too, which is subtle given her thoughts, but apparent by everyone else around her. Olivia struggles with letting people in all the way and allowing herself to feel deeply, reeling from the hurt of her parents' divorce when she was young. Her marriage, while good, is definitely lacking. Bill adores her, but it's obvious even if Olivia won't admit it, that they are on 2 different pages in terms of interests and goals and their chemistry is pretty tame at best. He doesn't meet her needs and he doesn't push her when Olivia is the sort of person that needs to be pushed very hard to get her to respond truthfully. Enter David Dylan, someone who unnerves Olivia with a glance. It's obvious to see where this story is going with a married woman and a very eligible and handsome bachelor. Their chemistry is undeniable, they barely have to speak or be near one another to feel the heat. I loved David. He could see right through Olivia and he does push her, every single time, even if it rattles him in the process. What is unclear is what David truly wants from Olivia, because while she is most definitely interested, she has obvious boundaries and she has so much to lose in her carefully constructed lifestyle that she cannot give up just for a fling. I felt for Olivia, knowing how empty she was on the inside and seeming so lost that when she's around David, something awakens within her and reacts, and it is not just lust. She has insecurities like any other woman but where Olivia is different is that she is beautiful, intelligent and just waiting to unleash a torrent of emotions that she tucks so carefully inside. She doesn't see her outer beauty and mostly skirts along life in the safe zones. At the same time, she is not easily intimidated or weak but she is internally very indecisive and terrible at convincing herself of the truth. David isn't some guy that wants to have an affair with a married woman just because he finds her attractive, he feels the same magnetic pull she does and he knows that no one else sees the real her so he does want to help Olivia let that side of herself out, but the attraction and temptation still remains. As much as this is a story about Olivia and David, it also about Olivia figuring out what she wants in life versus what others tell her what she wants, which could mean taking risks that she isn't comfortable with or staying numb in the comfort zone, but any decision she makes has consequences. I enjoyed this book because of her conflict and thought Olivia was very relatable, especially as her character unravels further about the details of her history.Love

O.M.G This book was so good that i couldn't put it down.
This book was so good that I cant believe that this is my first book by this author because this book was legend, it was fantastic and I literally couldn't put it down until the very end. That ending whattt!!!! I will defiantly need to start book #2 immediately. This is the first book in The Cityscape Affair Series #1.Olivia is a very independent beautiful woman that had it very difficult as a child when her parents were divorcing and this has made her put a protective shell around her heart. She actually thought she had everything she needed in life, she's married to Bill who obviously loves her and it seems like they have it all but they kind of live separate lives together. When she meets David Dylan they connect instantly.David Dylan is the hot bachelor guy that is actually a really nice guy inside and is very protective of the people he loves. He gets offered to be in the article and work with Olivia and they connect straight away and the chemistry that they have is undeniable and there is a lot of will they wont they going on.This book was freaking awesome and I really enjoyed reading it. This authors writing style is spot on, the story flows beautifully and I was gripped from the start. I really loved these characters and I really connected to Olivia and was really rooting for her because I really felt that she deserved some real love and affection in her life and when David tries to show her I don't think she knows how to feel it. They were very likable people and I think that they both found what they were looking for in each other. This book ends on a cliffhanger and you will need, N.E.E.D to read book #2 as desperate as me. I cant wait to read more from this author in the future.

Lost and Found
Beautifully written story about a woman who is going through the motions, appeasing everyone, ignoring her feelings and desires, that is until David makes an appearance. Olivia is however married to bill, a kind and loyal man who wants to take their marriage into its next phase, only Olivia isn't ready.Olivia is lost, tempted and trying to do the right thing but emotions are complex and Olivia is constantly questioning her life and whether or not to act on her impulses.Good characters and dialogue with a simple storyline which makes the reader question morals and social structures.I think to act is wrong, you take vows and the hurt, betrayal and devastation caused by adultery is something you can't get over. People who think they are going to cheat should end their relationship before acting. They don't because they are selfish and want that safety net which is completely unfair, disrespectful and disloyal to the other person. This story has some realism and is just perfectly delivered.A captivating and beautifully written story of a woman lost in the world.

really enjoyed it!
I have just finished the 1st 2 books back to back in 1 day, that's gotta say something for starters. Now the 1st book was a very slow builder, but still had me hooked, this one however, picks up where we left off and continued to drag me in with every word!!I know a few reviewers have said that the whole "cheating" thing is an issue, but it's a book! I love the angst, drama, passion, will they won't they from these types of book.It is very very well written indeed, flowed beautifully, and not a typo or anything in sight!Olivia did get to me a little bit with her denial and utter indecisiveness, but as you get further along, you really do sympathise with her. She is so unbelievably torn and confused, and the way she feels is written as if from a very personal experience, brilliant!! Bill keeps pushing her into something that it is very clear, she is not ready for, and I lost a lot of respect for him in this book. And as for the sneak peek into book 3, well let's just say, if Lucy was real, I would hunt her down and kick her ass for the things she says to Liv!!!I have already got book 3 waiting for me on my kindle, but as I put off the painting yesterday to read books 1 and 2.....well let's say that the painting will be somewhat rushed today as I literally am itching to start reading it!!Praise for Jessica Hawkins, I will be recommending this series to anyone who will listen!! 500 stars from me :)
