Genesis Finding Our Roots Paperback – February 2, 1998

This is the first review I have ever made on Amazon (and I've used it for years). As a homeschooler, I feel like all my Bible curriculum and early history woes are over. This is an amazingly put together book. It has beautiful old paintings and illustrations from many different time periods from around the world (so there is your "art" lesson). In each section, first there is scripture (straight from the Bible) to read, then there is a scripture study, then passages to memorize, then topical studies, art, etc... through the rest of the chapter. There is so much rich information that one could do a whole semester or whole year from this book (depending on how much one wants to focus on each area). I wish there was a book like this for each book of the Bible. I have young and middle elementary students, and they LOVE this book. We even dive into subjects from this book online, and they love knowing that the pictures were painted hundreds and thousands of years ago. This is essential for any family library, in a Christian home. As a disclaimer, it is a "young earth" point of view.

This is a great book. It shows you how to calculate your own time line for different events in the bible. I love the part about Noah and his family. I never realized they were on the ark a little over 1 year. I always thought it was 40 days. I was very wrong. This is a great book and can also be read to children.

We bought this to use in teaching history to our kids. We love how it starts in the beginning. My husband and I enjoy this book just as much if not more than the kids. It is filled all kind of interesting facts. It shows how different events and the Bible align or how things could be possible. Very interesting.

This is a wonderful book to be used as you teach your children about Biblical creation. It helps you to go a little deeper as you study the six days of creation. There are questions and activities that they give after each unit to aid you as you learn each day of God's magnificent creation. I would highly recommend it. It has helped and blessed us greatly.

This book was a required textbook for a homeschool curriculum. It goes into more of the history of Genesis that is not included in the Bible. It was pretty good.

This is a great way to study God's word with you children!

Ruth Beechick is an excellent writer. She has the insights of an academic in this book (as well as others), but is capable of writing to the young student as well as the adult. Highly recommended for unit study on ancient history or Bible study. Also a beautiful book, full of color photographs/graphics/fine art, and it is laid out well for the teacher.

I love all of Ruth Beechick's book. This one is beautifully illustrated, and interesting to read. I am looking forward to using it in my homeschool for years to come. Really nice to find creation-centred books.
