Definitely not pre-stained and finished. We chose to cover it with clear polyurethane in order to get it the color in the photos.

Love, love, love!
I used this to make a headboard and I am so pleased with the results! The first photo is what one panel looks like straight out of the box. I then stained them with some wood stain/polyurethane combo (like $5 at Home Depot) and dis various number of coats to create diversity. Then I peeled off the tape, stuck it up on the wall, and it has stayed there for a week without any falling off. And we’ve leaned up against it and stuff too. I love this stuff.
