Excellent book with helpful information
As a beginner with isopods, this book is full of fascinating information! I had a hard time deciding between this one and “Pillbugd and Other Isopods” by the same author. It didn’t seem clear what the difference would be, so I went with the less expensive of the two. I love it! This one is soft cover, held together with staples - like a booklet. It has 4 pages of color photos, which are stiffer than the other pages, making them easy to flip to for reference. It has plenty of information for someone who wants to learn more about the members of their cleanup crew, someone who wants to know more about the crustaceans living in their yard, someone keeping isos for fun as pets, and for someone like me - as a starting point to know which areas you’d like to dive into deeper reasearch. For those wondering like I was, I’m told that the differences between the two books are that the other book is hardbound, has many more pages of information, and lots of colored photos, where this one just has the 2 pages. I definitely plan to get that one as well, to add to our little library.

In-depth Info on Isopods and Breeding Them
It goes into detail into isopods in general and breeding them, but doesn’t mention the newer Spanish Porcellio isopods like P. Hoffmenseggi, P. Sevilla, P. Ornatus, etc.

More of a pamphlet then a book
This is more of a pamphlet then a book and a lot if the pics are in black and white making it difficult to see the pictures. Definately not worth $30. I wouldn't pay $5 for this.
