Superfish Zeolite filter media excels at absorbing harmful ammonia from the water to prevent algae growth and poisoning. Zeolite is much more effective at removing ammonia than nitrifying bacteria and will keep ammonia levels in check while the biological filter is being established. Superfish Zeolite also provides excellent surface area for nitrifying bacteria to establish themselves.Zeolite is a popular addition to classic filter medias. It works great in ponds and aquariums. Review: Highly effective at ammonia removal. - Excellent at sorting out my high ammonia levels but only as a short term measure. I am sure it will disrupt the nitrogen cycle within a pond therefore I only used it as an immediate temporary solution to a spike in ammonia. Afterwards, I cut back on food, increased aeration and added filter bacteria to enhance the nitrogen cycle and stabilise things. It did work thankfully. Obviously some reviewers use zeolite permanently and it seems to work for them but the use would have to be ongoing to keep the water toxic free. Consists of chunky sized pieces that I placed around the pond in mesh bags. Within hours the levels had subsided. Can be recharged in a salty solution after extended use if inclined. Very little dust on each piece though I did briefly rinse each batch before placing in the pond. Happy with purchase and put right the elevated ammonia levels. Thank you.

A: All I know is it removes ammonia buildup in ponds, tanks.....not sure about mould though? No? It can be used to remove odours in the air, kinda like a bowl of baking soda would but it's not effective for that either really. It's for ammonia buildup in large ponds.

A: erm like the size of garden chippy stones - about half an inch to an inch round ish - sorry they are random sizes but not large

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Zeolite chunks for Koi filters or waterfalls with steps.

Zeolite is a must for fish ponds,it is a natural way of ridding the pond of toxins.It is expensive but try and buy Superfish Zeolite as it is bagged and sealed and you know you are getting the proper quality Zeolite,not rubbishy dust or small granules.You cannot use small granules for Koi ponds.The chunks have a larger surface area for catching the germs and bacteria. Our Koi are mostly home grown from an original stock,but we also keep Orfe,Goldfish and Tench and they all enjoy a Zeolite bath as we call it.Beside putting it in the filters (we use empty plastic trays(like the ones you get in supermarkets with meat in)with perforated holes in the bottom.We change the Zeolite trays every so often as the Zeolite gets exhausted and cannot absorb any more toxins. You can wash it out-- recharge it and re-use it.After a while you do need to get fresh in.We put some on the steps of a waterfall we have notice the fish gather under the fall of water when the new Zeolite has been added,almost as if they are cleansing them selves of bacteria. Anyway,hope the ablve helps and Good luck with your ponds!!
