This is an amazing reference for anyone who has been targeted with electronic brain torture. It provides a legacy view of where the work and intentions were begun and developed over time. The references in the back are good - I was suprised to see that the department of vocational rehab had funded lobotomy projects by the CIA in order to induce amnesia - most likely to help vitims forget the torture, (p255) as is being done today. The fact that this is SO INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT to document, and that there is no way to get medical records of what has been done to your brain, is a sign of the state of affairs in America today. I would guess that it is on par, if not worse than the other top level totalitarian countries. There is no help anywhere - legal or otherwise, for the innocent victims of neuroweapons. This is just plain wrong. My heart goes out to Karen for what she has suffered, and for the amazing job of putting together this book after all she has been through. She is incredibly strong - and a great writer. I am sad that she had to spend her brilliance on this for her whole life - this is tragic and it should be significantly compensated for and a huge appology from the people who did it and our government who sponsored it. Our taxpayer dollars at work to enslave and possibly exterminate us. It is truly terrifying what has been created out of this research. As a victim of the current day torture in the extreme - suicide programming and lobotomy, I can see all the outlines in her experience in my own. Character assination is the first step - by making you a mental patient. Then destroying the rest of your life by torture, financial destruction, rape, forcing suicide, arresting, jail time, stealing of business, isloation and family/friend shamming, you name it, they'll do it. It's a government-wide program making LOTS of money off the victims - by corporations and medical/law enforcement sectors. It is far beyond what they did in NAZI Germany. These crimes against humanity must be exposed and prosecuted - they are so very very horrible - beyond anything you can possibly imagine.See all about it at mindjustice.org. People need to figure out what is going on - quickly.

A Good Read about Mind Control and MKULTRA
The author goes into detail about her torturous experience at a hospital regarding mind control experiments in Vermont. It’s absolutely horrific to learn about what she went through. In her persistent and exhaustive pursuit of gaining more information about her records, she endured even more abuse by those who relentlessly targeted her for seeking information and help about her own health records. More people need to be aware of these types of experiments that were done to innocent people without their consent. Again, good book for more insight into the mind control experiments that took place in the 1960’s etc.

Good Knowledge, Not Overall Coherent, But Good
In the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, the CIA contracted out mind-altering experimentation on American citizens in hospitals, at Universities, military bases, in child care facilities, in foster care, and even some with the blessings of their generationally abusive families. Experiments were conducted on a populace nobody pays attention to.Those who made it out alive (3,000 did not in a twenty year stretch at Vermont State Hospital alone) were left on the curb detached from reality with no reintegration plan. A few managed to get it together with support, kindness, and encouragement from others of which Karen Wetmore is one. She lived through it and wrote a book about her experiences. It is written as you would expect from a person whose mind was traumatically fractured before being glued back together. Choppy, yet informative.

Steadfast Determination
This is a five star book all across the board. At the very least Karen's story deserves an equal effort by the Federal government to improve transparency and accountability. A tiny start for this would be getting Senator Pat Leahy's USA FREEDOM Act passed into law.Having experienced taxpayer funded mind control of my own I will highlight some of those experiences of Karen’s that validate and help normalize my own. Page 12, I also was harassed by federal representatives and taxpayer funded personnel in general. As she says it is hard to comprehend but true. Page 17, I also felt like a second-class citizen. Being tortured to keep everything secret or else and then was being traumatized over and over for keeping the secret.Page 23, adjusting to the new reality as bits of integration take place is right on and admired. Page 50, my experience concurs that unwanted medication was used to exploit the subject at the mind control programs whim. Here the Psychological Assessment System or similar was used for the same purpose. Page 57, I also was labeled with an illness I didn’t and don’t have, then called manic-depressive. The use of a PAS like assessment was used to compromise me, to get at me, to exploit me, to compromise, and used in a destructive manner. Page 77, injections of drugs were used to break me down, produce mind splits and mark me. After reading your book I won’t be able to see the name Hyde without getting that sickening feeling. Perhaps I will find some kind of sublimation to deal with this. Most of the brainwashing techniques you mention I also had experience with. Page 139, what little courage I have mustered up I am also thankful for. Page 159, I also find that not knowing my full story of subjugation is often disturbing. Page 203, for sure part of our grief is recognition of all that is lost. Page 205, I concur with long years of interpreting events “by a child’s perceptions about life.” The mentally ill were those running the experiments and sadly to say many of them are classified as WWII heroes. To paraphrase you from page 226, uncovering and stopping the criminal unethical activities of the CIA types are more important now that ever. This is so because the abusive application of the state secrets privilege and related doctrine, regulation, act, executive order and policy abuses continues. For example just look at what Edward Snowden exposed. The taxpayer dollars wasted on abusing us is the opposite of defending freedom. Karen, I admire your investigation and like you I shake my head in “disgust and disbelief” at what happened. Your later comments about how the experimenters could detach themselves from us and act like we didn’t matter is enough to foster bitterness and disgust of such a system. Page 259, I loved how the storm Irene was tougher than a bunch of, in my own words, intelligence gathering mind control pedophiles. For sure through taxpayer funded means unwitting humans were abused. Karen, your determination is so admired in your steadfast investigation and work.

Testimony exposing abuses using lobotomies, experimental drugs, torture and terminal mind control experiments. A shocking cover up
This is the story of how an innocent 13 yr old girl who loved horses and who had loving parents was hospitalized and subjected to horrendous torture, her family being denied access and lied to to keep the experimentation secret. These horrendous mind control experiments were funded by at least 50 corporations and government associations, including mental health and pharmaceutical labs and astonishingly ,documents exist to prove that the CIA was granted permission to use citizens to arrange this. Much documentation is included in this book which the writer has taken years to obtain. Unfortunately much of it has been censored by the Dept's involved. The writer began to get gang stalked when she began filing freedom of information requests to try and obtain this information and her view is that because terminal experiments were done, that resulted in 3000 deaths ,the CIA and all involved wanted to keep the truth covered up. Its hard to believe, after reading this book, that psychiatric experimentation and mind control experiments have stopped as the involvement and finances from VERY powerful players and government and institutions ,which the writer provides proof of in this book, means that whatever these investors hoped to gain from these investigations into the human mind, under the guise of schizophrenic rehabilitation, was and probably still is, important to them.

A chilling personal account of the MKULTRA experiments
A great personal account of the MKULTRA experiments, with adequate references to other books for more information and actual copies of evidence documents in the book. The book is well written and easy to follow.

Fascinating topic; badly written
Wetmore is courageous and determined in her unveiling of some of the realities of MKULTRA, and this alone is to be commended. I gave an extra star for the gesture alone. However, the way this book is written, for me, is frustrating and maddening. I am just 25% of the way through, and in honesty, feel deterred from finishing the book - but for the topic alone, I will certainly try. The narrative struggles with cohesion; even when there seems to be attempts at chronology, there are anomalous paragraphs describing something which has no place or bearing on that particular point of the narrative. Also, due to the loose structure of the narrative, much information is explained twice; sometimes in consecutive paragraphs, and other times this repetition is separated by chapters. Nonetheless, it is repeated when I feel it could have simply been explained thoroughly the first time it was mentioned. The third and final fault I have with the way this was written is that there is a lot of statements along the lines of "... it took me decades to find out the true extent of this..." Apparently this means I must wait several chapters to find out also, because these statements are used almost as conclusions to certain segments, leaving me hanging for the information I am reading this book to obtain. At only 25% of the way through, I can only assume that these details will eventually be shared. Considering the number of such statements I have read, it seems unlikely that the writer will even remember to tie up all the loose ends presented in the first quarter of the book. So, overall, it may be worth reading for the (sparse) content; but, undoubtedly there are more informative and better written books on the topic out there.
