This removes the need for any fixed wiring between the thermostat and boiler reducing the installation time and eliminates the chance of damaging the aesthetics of the property, with no redecorating or making good required afterwards. Review: Brilliant, easy to install and works really well. - This is a great piece of kit at a decent price. I was sick of my wall themostat clicking on and off througout the night, i know it's weird but the sound of it just annoyed me. There are some great videos on youtube on how to install this and there are a couple of ways on how to wire it in to the boiler side. I chose to use a new 3 core from the receiver straight into the boiler PCB after disconnecting the wall thermostat connections on the PCB. Explanation below. The themostat is already paired up straight from the box but it's pretty easy to pair it up if it isn't. Its great just having the themostat in any room you want. Worcester Boch Greenstar 2000 - 3 core cable (Live, Neutral, Earth) N.B. the receiver doesn't need to be earthed so i used the Earth wire as the signal wire. Turn Boiler off before you start and remove anything wired into LR LS NS on the boiler PCB. Receiver - Live to L - Neutral to N, then put a small wire link between Live and 1, then Earth (signal wire) to number 2 (which is the switch) Boiler PCB - Live to LS - Neutral to NS and Earth (which is your signal wire) to LR. Thats it, turn boiler back on which gives the receiver power, make sure thermo and receiver is paired and away you go. You can mark the Earth wire with a permenant marker for anyone looking at it after to show it's not an Earth wire.

First of all, it’s budget-friendly and wireless, making it an excellent choice for installing new boilers, as ESI thermostats are programmable and compliant with Boiler Plus regulations. Secondly, they are a great replacement for any faulty wireless thermostat, thanks to their standard backplate for the receiver. The price on desertcart was also spot on, matching that of my local merchant where I usually buy other parts, but with the added convenience of doorstep delivery. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: I've just changed the battery in mine and it is displayin "un boil".  It seems to be working though.  Does anyone have any idea what "un boil" means?**
A: I had the same issue and emailed esi tech support who responded really quickly - they said it means the thermostat is regulating the boiler temperature so it works more efficiently and shouldn't affect functioning. Full reply below.

"The UNBOIL message which appears in place of the date on your thermostat is an OpenTherm notification that is telling you that your boiler will not need to heat the return water any further at the moment as it is already satisfied.
Typically, thermostats use electrical voltage to talk to boilers to say either ON or OFF, however OpenTherm works by using a language (called OpenTherm) that works as a load compensator which will regulate your heating by modulating the boiler at specific points to keep your heating at your target temperature far more accurately and will run your boiler more efficiently.
The UNBOIL message will not interfere with any functions on your room thermostat and it is normal to see this. If your thermostat was not wired in using the OpenTherm terminals, then it is in effect talking to itself, but it will still not have any negative influence on the operation of your thermostat."

**Q: How do you programme this from 4 “events” to 6? It only seems to give 4, despite saying it offers 6.**
A: How to Change From 4 Programs To 6 Programs

This is NOT mentioned in the user guide, So I emailed ESI to get the following instructions and I can confirm they work.

1.       Move the slider bar to the OFF position.
          You should see a snowflake on the display.

2.       Press & Hold the A button, H button and >> button together.
          You will see either ON or OFF flashing on the display.
          Release the buttons.

3.       Press & Release the >> button until you see CODE on the display.

4.       Press the >> button once more and you will see an error code appear and then disappear.

5.       The error code will be replaced by number 4.

6.       Use the + button to change the 4 to 6. 

7.       Press the HOME button to exit the menu.

You will now have 6 programmable events instead of 4. 

To change back to 4 you do exactly the same thing but select 4 in step 6.

**Q: My boiler is in manual mode. With teampature turned down to 5 degrees. But the thermostats comes back in to 20 21 degrees. By itself why?**
A: After you set the temperature, the screen will change to the current room temperature.

**Q: Will it work with a ideal logic combi 30**
A: Works a treat, I took out my ideal built in RF unit and fitted an ESI, far quicker response and more accurate

Installed by my electrician to the boiler. Works well and can be programmed to turn on/off at two points in the day. Can also be turned on manually. The thermostat seems to work well and can be placed in your desired position to heat the house.
