Product Description Digitally remastered edition comes housed in a mini LP sleeve that replicates almost every aspect of the original album release. Toto's self-titled debut album from 1978 introduced the talents of a unique band unrestricted by music genre or style. Hit singles like 'Hold the Line,' 'I'll Supply the Love,' and 'Georgy Porgy' earned Toto a loyal following right from the start. Review For fans of CDs and yes, there are a lot of more of you out there than you might think nothing beats a new reissue from Culture Factory. This boutique label from NYC does an amazing job at unearthing and reissuing classics of yore, in not only remastered sound, but pristine mini-LP packaging that replicates the original album artwork. --Jim Kaz, New Noise MagazineCulture Factory gets high marks for superior audio remastering and high-quality packaging (dig those LP-like disc surfaces, grooves and all)… --Pete Prown, Vintage Guitar MagazineTruly amazing! The attention to detail, the remastering, the overall packaging-- I've never seen anything this complete or as well done EVER. Greatest CDs ever. 10+, five stars, all walk-off grand slams! --Gary Moore, 955KLOS-FM

I have the cd from Sony Japan and it has never sounded good but I kept it as I loved the music
I am very fussy about how music sounds. I suppose with the system I have that some would classify me as an audiophile, so be it. So it was with some trepidation that I purchased this cd from a new company, at least to me. I have the cd from Sony Japan and it has never sounded good but I kept it as I loved the music. I also hoped that a Mobile Fidelity, Audio Fidelity or any of the other audiophile companies would work their magic, but no one has until Culture Factory. Shame on the others for not recognizing good music. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. This new remastering compared to my Sony is a 100% revelation. The sound is much more open with great definition on all the instruments, especially Porcaro's bass drum. It has greater impact and depth and the vocals are also more open and sound like the pillow has finally heen removed. Bravo to Culture Factory for putting out this cd and others like it. I will also mention that Toto's IV and Michael Franks sound equally great compared to what Sony and Warner Brothers foisted on the public. There is much discussion about this label and a lot of it negative but from the three cd's I have purchased I am impressed. I have one request/nitpick and that is there is no refrence to who is doing the remastering or what source was used. With a full price cd it would be nice to have the info and yes even a booklet would be nice at this price point, but the sound wins out.

Excellent
Having heard of remastering issues with Culture Factory's The Motels reissues, I was very leery about buying their remastered version of this album. However, after reading the other reviews here and listening to the muddy, lifeless original cd (which I have owned for years), I decided to take a chance and purchased this and Hydra. All I can say is that Culture Factory nailed it! This truly is an audiophile cd. Plenty of dynamics and stunning 3-d dimensionality. The acoustic guitar solo on "Takin It Back" sounds so detailed and clear. The original Toto cd, along with Jefferson Starship's Winds Of Change I consider to be two of the worst sounding cds in my collection. This remaster is done right and is not a pumped up loudness remaster like a lot of labels produce today. This is a vast improvement over the original cd-which I will be gladly disposing to Goodwill. Hopefully, Culture Factory will give Jefferson Starship's catalogue the same treatment? (The Friday Music remasters are still flat and dull, imo). I plan on buying the rest of Toto's catalog with these Culture Factory reissues. Thank you, Culture Factory, for finally giving these Toto albums a much needed sonic overhaul.

Excellent remaster by Culture Factory
I had the vinyl original long ago. Bought the CD once I switched over and sold the vinyl. The CD paled in comparison to the vinyl, but I could play it in my car, at home, and in a portable CD player. So, I just suffered listening to an inferior recording because I liked the music. The cardboard sleeve remasters by Culture Factory seriously blow even the vinyl away. Razor sharp instrument definition, stronger mix, and a massive acoustic presence bring this remaster into the 21st century and beyond. I had heard people complaining that this company had created other remasters that were hideous. Well, that may be, but they got this one VERY right. Great recording!I would really love to see Culture Factory remasters of Kansas recordings sometime soon. The complexity and musical layering in their albums would benefit greatly from a high quality remaster.

Currently at a great price. But If you have an equalizer this ...
Very well done collectible remaster and mini LP format CD by Culture Factory ("HD 96khz, 24-Bit"). Really does take the gauze off the original Sony release, and boosts the volume a lot without sounding brickwalled/distorted. Currently at a great price. But If you have an equalizer this release is less essential, as one can boost the treble to get a similar "open" sound. Toto "The Collection" box set has the band's first six records for an even more economical price, though unremastered at lower volume (nothing the control knob can't fix), without lyrics, and the outer sleeves are less sharp.Bottom line: no regrets on this purchase of Toto's memorable first recording, but I don't think I'll buy the others and duplicate what I already have.

Finally Got It Right
After previous releases where the remastering was WAY too loud, to the point of distortion, Culture Factory finally got it right. Just finished listening to this and the remaster is very good. A little light on the bass, but considering I Iowered the volume on my Marantz SR 6006 receiver in preparation for another loud remaster, I am very pleased with the job they did on this one. I bought all 4 Toto releases, so it remains to be seen with the rest. As a side note, I like my remasters "loud" and not "flat", like you get with MFSL, so you know it's too loud when it's too loud for me. Lastly, they always do a great job with the artwork, right down to the cd being a replica of the actual vinyl and red Columbia label.

Y no decepcionaron!!
