Best value for money bell out there
I have tried a few bells and I have found this to be the best. It is compact, neat and well made. I like the double strike when the trigger is pulled and released. The note emitted is pleasant with a good sustain. It is loud enough to warn pedestrians but ideally could be a bit louder. To compensate, I trigger it a few times rather than once. Unlike other bells it does not rotate, but is fixed in position with respect to the mounting band. However I have not found that limiting when finding a suitable position to fix it. I do not like bells above the bar, they get in the way when inverting the bike for maintenance etc and they can also look more unsightly. I also find them more awkward to operate above the bar. I have mounted the bell on the right under the bar of my Brompton so it is operated by the thumb, and under the bar on the left of my hybrid and MtB so it is operated by the index finger. The band itself is simple but secure but will only fit round the narrow (22.2mm) part of the bars. I have no idea about longevity but Cateye products have proven reliable in the past and so I have no reason to suspect that this will be otherwise.

A great and effective little bell
A difficult choice between a few quid and £35I read reviews and plumped for a CatEye Pb-1000 bellIt fitted well with one screwI put it on the left side as the right was already rather full.Push to ring ~ ting on the forward push and another ting when it strings back.Much easier to use than flick flick flickI bought it because of the reviews and now I'm joining themCatEye Pb-1000 Wind-bell Bicycle Bell ~ TING TING

Great bell
This is indeed a cut above the average bike bell. Easy to sound, without having to struggle to get the right amount of pull back on the lever, and a lovely clear two strike bell sound. Fab.First one for my son's bike. I'm buying another for me

Superb bicycle bell!
After doing lots of research and reading many reviews, my husband and I opted for these bicycle bells. We bought two - one for each of our bikes. It was very easy to affix and the bell is definitely loud enough and effective when out cycling and wanting to alert people that you are approaching. Highly recommend!

A step above yer average bell
I was fed up with having bell with a rubber ping thing you have to try and pull back with a gloved hand and hope it returns with enough force against the bell to make a noise loud enough to hear. This bell has obviously had a bit more thought put into its design. You push a lever type button that feels very ergonomic. It makes one loud ping when depressed, another when returning to its original position. A loud two pings every time!

Can’t go wrong with CatEye
Really great brass bell made from Japan. It is easy to install and smooth to operate with a double ring that can be heard at a distance with the classic brass ring. It is also fairly priced and does not take up too much space on the handlebar. One thing to note though is that ringing it with your left thumb is more comfortable than right thumb as the trigger is on the left side.

Personal choice
Of the many bells I've tried, this one remains my personal choice. It's louder than most spring type bells of its size due to its two-strike mechanism. It's not the loudest comparing to larger classic lever bells with similar mechanism or super-loud crane bells.

The loop for attachment to handlebar is too small
This makes a nice loud ring but the handlebar attachment is too small, it wouldn’t fit anywhere on my road bike, I had to make an adaptor.
