There is no such thing. We know from having to deal with so-called experts that most of them have never had children of their own and only understand the theoretical approach to child raising.Michael Graubart is down here in the trenches fighting the day-to-day battle that many of us have to face. We are not perfect, but we do the best we can and we love those little rug rats.We give Sober Dad all five stars on our scale of zero to five stars. So far, Mr. Graubart has not had to deal with an empty nest. We all have demons and addictions, but when a child comes, we all need to focus on what they need and desire. This book helps all dads (and moms and other caregivers) know (and accept) the difference between what they can help and what they can't and see how they might move items from the latter list into the former and deal with what matters so they can be there for their families (and others). Kudos and thanks to Michael G for having the chutzpah and compassion to offer this book!

This book is essentially a collection of the authors thoughts on recovery. There is not a great deal of tools or methods for parenting in this book. if you are looking for that there are books that cover it much more in depth. Overall, it was an interesting read, sort of like listening to the author share at a speaker meeting.
