Stainless Steel 8" Fishing Pliers
These are very nice pliers .The angle is well suited for removing the hooks from fish that have'nt been hooked to deeply . They have a spring type clip to help in openning which is nice ,although even if it breaks the pliers are still very functional . They have a hole in one handel for a lanyard , and the jaws have ridges . Mine came in what appears to be a form fitted reuseable vinyl package . It would have been nice to have a nylon case , but it also probally would not have been such a good deal . I can easilly find a holder at one of the home improvement centers .

Nice fishing pliers!
These are very nice, and long enough to get those hooks out that are set deeply in a large fish's mouth. The bent nose jaws are a big help as well. Notice that these are not made the standard way - is has a box joint where they pivot, rather than the more normal (cheap) half overlap joint. The only down side is that the blades on the cutters don't join well. But they are still worth buying.

Good mechanics, the lips werent lined up like a previous review said. Pretty good construction for a cheap fishing plier. Used it on one trip so far. Little rust on the screw inside the grip but no others that I can see. Gave it a good bath inn soapy water and some corrosion block. She still feels brand new. Could use a grip on the handle tho. When there is blood on the deck and fish slime everywhere it is pretty hard to hold to get a hook out. Other than that I am a happy camper.

If you do any Bass fishing you should have a pair of these.
I am not sure how long I have had my original pair of these or where my brother had gotten them. When friends would fish with me on my boat they would always end up using them, especially if the fish swallowed the hook. I have never used a better pair of pliers. Because of the curved tip you can enter the fishes mouth through the gill and easily grasp a swallowed hook to remove it. I've seen people try to do the same with a pair of forceps but they aren't strong enough to hold the hook. I'd been looking for these pliers or something similar for years and when I stumbled upon them on Amazon I bought three more pair. I gave one to a good buddy and am saving the other two in case I ever loose my original pair. The thing that amazed me the most when I found them was the price. These things are a steal. Stainless steel for this price is really great. If you don't get these you passed up what might be the best pair of fishing pliers you ever had.

In real life its not as well crafted as it looks in the photos.. Still, for the price its not bad.
I think it will be fine for getting out fishhooks and possibly for cutting some thicker wire leaders. But not for braid or fine wire leaders. In real life its not as well crafted as it looks in the photos.. Still, for the price its not bad. I would not buy a second one though. But thats because I need something smooth and sharp enough to cut wire and braid easily.

A little slippery on the handle and no place for lanyard, so buy a sheath sleeve with snap or velcro. Problem is it's incredibly hard to find a sheath !! Found one at Cabella's or Bass Pro for $5 and bought two of them since that product is so rare.

Great Fishing Pliers Hook
I've ordered 2 of it.. really solid feel. Not much complain about them except:1) One of the pliers has it's jaws ridges alignment incorrect... hence, there are gaps when it's close.2) One of the pliers tip is shorter then the otherOther than that, I think they're great for fish hook remover.. cant wait to try them out!

Great product
These are very high quality pliers. The polished finish is flawless and both the jaws and cutter are perfectly aligned. These grip tightly and will cut through wire leader as well as hook barbs if necessary. Even though the hand grips are embossed, the high polish tends to make them slip in slime covered hands. A few dips in Flex Seal Liquid resolved that issue. I also went to the extra trouble of making lanyards for these. I definitely do not want to lose these overboard. Great addition to my tackle box.
