Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Soundtrack

THE RIGHTFUL SUCCESSOR TO JOHN WILLIAMS
To have to follow in the musical footsteps of John Williams who composed the music for the first two Jurassic films is a daunting challenge. But Michael Giacchino has more than risen to the task. His score for JWFK is brilliant in its own right. Thunderous but still musical; appropriate without being intrusive; melodic without being obvious. The "end credits suite" is worth the price alone. At last, those responsible for putting film music soundtracks on CD have finally begun to wake up and include the "end credits" which music may be the best part of the entire picture - like a mini-symphony. Earlier JW themes by JW are incorporated as well - a nice touch. Giacchino seems to have become the heir apparent for doing the film scores of sequels to those composed originally by JW. Not only Jurassic World but Star Wars as well. This score has just the right combination of menace, fury, danger, horror, evil, and destruction without the generic clanging and banging we hear in all too many "action" and Sci-Fi movies of today. From the opening notes we know that we will not be able to sit still in our chairs. Giacchino has now composed for Star Trek, Star Wars, Jurassic World, and The Incredibles among others. He has earned the right to be the successor to John Williams in every way.

Classic Jurassic, Yet New All The Same
Giacchino surpasses his work on the previous Jurassic World with this haunting, epic score. I am drawn to Giacchino's music because of its similarities to John Williams, in both tone and composition. However, in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, he's given a longer leash to explore more gothic, classic horror sounds in his themes. The first half of the island still feels a lot like classic Jurassic action, with swashbuckling arrangements and the punchy horn work you'd expect. But in the second half, as the film becomes smaller and more intimately scary, the score matches apace. This is one of Michael Giacchino's fresher scores in recent years. He has done work on so many films, it all starts to sound the same after awhile. Not this one, though.

John Williams, w Giacchino blends,....
The sounds from Jurassic World were good, and were very much sounds from a Spielberg movie. The only thing that may have bothered me was the Jurassic theme wasn't as predominate. Here, in the fifth installment, Michael brings back the theme, along w some choir work. Just amazing. I'm a huge lover of music in general and the Jurassic Park theme has one of those themes I could whistle all day long. The disc is a bit on the lengthy side, but completely worth the listen. Giacchino even bothers to add some of the drum work that you hear in The Lost World soundtrack.

Won't play
I'm giving this five stars because I love the music so much, but for some reason it no longer plays in my Amazon music despite the fact I PAID for the album. Can't find any help from Amazon on it (shocker), so I can't listen to this beautiful music anymore.

It’s a really great score for an okay movie at best
I have some major issues with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The story is sound, but the radical shift in the tone of J.A. Bayona’s direction in two halves of the movie doesn’t work for me.The film’s saving grace though, is another magnificent album from master Giacchino. His new theme for Fallen Kingdom is just tremendous, and it’s the best musical cue this series has produced since John Williams’ iconic 1993 theme. It’s thunderous, it’s eerie, it’s epic, and it works really well on screen. Fallen Kingdom the movie is a bit of a dud, but the music is one of 2018’s better scores.

Michael Giacchino has done it again!
I've already listened to the whole soundtrack multiple times, and it is really spectacular. Michael Giacchino has done it once again. I was really looking forward to listening to this, and this does not disappoint me at all. Overall, get this track even if you don't really wish to see the film.

Epic score
The music is epic. I can’t recall hearing this much choir work in the series before. Great themes and motifs that stick with you after only one listen. Also, the sound quality is very ear-pleasing, with a reverb-heavy mix. This is the best-mixed Giacchino score I’ve heard yet.

Great Jurassic world fallen kingdom music
Like this soundtrack. Very good rhythm to this soundtrack. Not as bold and strong as the original. But not bad. Great movie soundtrack for my collection.
