Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee. The regal coffees from this country are deserving of such a heritage and stand up to the calling. Referring to Ethiopia as a country of single origin, however, is misleading. Coffees from the different growing regions vary so incredibly that they do not even seem to be from the same planet! Coffee holds a special place in Ethiopian culture that transcends that of the coffees from other origin countries. The majority of the crop does not even leave the country and is drunk with great ceremony by the Ethiopian people. This is in contrast to other origins where coffee is a cash crop, with the best being exported, and the dregs kept locally and drunk unceremoniously with plenty of milk and sugar to choke it down.

Hands down my #1 favorite coffee so far
Hands down my #1 favorite coffee so far.I was initially skeptical when seeing Chosen Bean coffee promoted as a cut above the rest -- who trust anything marrketers say today... but I decided to give them a shot and was very pleasantly surprised to find that they really do make excellent coffee, better flavored and far cleaner than almost any other I have tried. And then I tried the Ethiopia. And the rest is history. It has a very full body and strong flavor, but is by far THE single cleanest smoothest coffee I have ever had. Hands down.I don't bother looking at anything else these days, I just go straight for this bag of coffee right here!!VERY highly recommend!!

Good coffee, balanced with no real holes in the flavour profile.
This is good coffee. Starbucks just cancelled their Ethiopian Brand which was what I had been drinking for the last 6 years or so.The flavor profile of this coffee is very balanced without any acidity or much bitterness. I have tried other Ethiopian Arabica cofffes and were very disappointed. Mild roasts all too often are much too acidic often called "citrousy or fruit notes". In fact I suspect this coffee could be just a touch darker than the medium roast that it is. This does not have the "chocolate" notes that the Starbucks Ethiopian had but it is pretty good. I suspect that I'll get used to it.

It is not yirgacheffe
First time I bought this yirgacheffe it was delicious. The second time, it didn’t resemble yirgacheffe or taste anything like it. I do not recommend this item

Package received not like picture on website
The item purchased was not packaged like what is seen on website; not certain if this is the item paid for or not; labeling appears to be hand-made and not professionally done; will not order again

Makes a great cup!
Well roasted for when I don't want to roast myself. The flavors of this coffee are great and it is in my top five all time.

Excellent coffee, well roasted
One of my favorite coffees, smooth, plenty of body and devoid of that bitter taste that comes with over roasting.Of my favorite coffees Yirgacheffe is easily the least expensive and theChosenBean medium roasting does it full justice.
