I bought four of these as every family member recently received their own Homepod. Each came in a protective sleeve inside a nice box which was then inside a Ziplock-like bag. All four were in a padded envelope. No arguments here; quality shipping materials.This is a very nicely made product that does exactly what it is supposed to do. I nestles neatly into the base of the HomePod and has a protective rubber or rubber-like ring on the furniture side. I think it enhances bass response through that may be my 60 year old ears playing tricks. it isn't made of iron as the description states but appears to be some sort of aluminum. It is hefty but not ridiculously so and the color is very similar to the Apple MacBook silver. It feels like it was worth the price (but more on that shortly). If the Apple store sold it, it wouldn't cost less.Back to the price. If this were the only vendor, I wouldn't have thought twice about cost. But, there are several other vendors selling what appears to be the same product. At my time of purchase, the lowest price was $12.98 and I paid $20.88 here. The difference was the lower price came with free shipping from China and a delivery time window spanning more than 30 days. The vendor said it would be here in 10-18 days but, for me, that is still a long time. I'm spoiled. This higher price vendor offered two-day Prime and the product shipped from Pennsylvania. Was it worth it? Your call. I paid because I just couldn't wait weeks. So, for me, yes it was worth it. And my family members were thrilled.

Since there's no review yet, a quick one to confirm at the very least this product is as described and looks as depicted.Solid, heavy, metal "coaster", machined cleanly & precisely to fit the base of the HomePod. Has a rubber ring to protect from scratches, hopefully without the risk of the dreaded "white ring" of the standard HomePod base (no issues myself so far) Came well-packaged in a nice little box.Acoustically, can't claim to hear a change one way or the other - would be difficult anyway due to the dynamically adjusting nature of the HomePod. Visually, I like the contrasting look of the silver base on the dark model - I actually think it looks nicer than the "plain" HomePod.Whether the potential furniture protection and better looks are worth the asking price is of course entirely up to you, but at least it delivers on its description.

This stand is substantial and heavy. My HomePod sits on a glass table and this stand has a rubber layer on the bottom to keep the HomePod in place and prevent it from slipping every time it is touched or bumped. I did have to exchange the first one of these that I ordered, because it had a huge stain/defect in the silver finish, but the replacement was free of defects. So it seems the QC on this item may not be that great.

Thick and solid aluminum. Elegant solution to raise HomePod off of any surface. Not hollow or cheap in any way. I can’t see any way that anyone could be disappointed here.

I bought two of these. They’re well made and do not impede on sound quality. In my opinion they give my speakers a classy appearance.

I heard about the white rings that some users claim homepods leave on finished wooden furniture. I asked my son-in-law about this. He has had a homepod for a couple of years now and said he has never seen any such thing. He took a picture of his unit but I saw that it was sitting on a painted surface. If you plan to use a homepod on a painted surface or something other than finished wood, likely you will not experience the white ring problem. I plan to use mine on finished wood so ordered this to hold the unit up off the wood. The quality of the unit appears high. It is well machined aluminum (the silver one I received) that is of similar appearance to the finely machined aluminum of Apple products. This is not an Apple product but is of the same apparent quality. The bottom of the unit has a cushioned pad so the metal does not contact the supporting surface. My homepod and this base are Christmas gifts for the family so I have not used it yet. I cannot say anything about possible effects on sound quality but other reviewers have said that this does not interfere in any way with the sound quality of the homepod.

Product is exactly as described. Nice fit with the HomePods, both in color and manufacturing precision. Looks nice and doesn't seem to interfere with HomePod sound production. A little pricey, but if it keeps the white rings away and looks good while doing it, it's worth it to me.
