I hate doing my own nails
Ok, so I am not very nail inclined at all. In fact, I hate doing my own nails, but as a graduate student, I need to look professional for my internships so hey, I was willing to give this a shot. I also suffer from excoriation disorder, so I have a tendency to pick, particularly the skin around my nails. Having acrylic nails prevents this, allowing my skin to heal. But as mentioned before, poor graduate student, so I thought this might be a good compromise. And it is, but there is some caveats to go along with this.First- this sh*t is tacky. Not tacky like your co-worker hooking up with the weird guy from technical (you know who you are), but tacky like this will legit stick to your fingers, your clothes, your counter... you get the drift. Plan accordingly. Don't wear your clothes you're about to go out on your date in. Protect your counter tops and be careful with where you put the polygel stuff. It'll come off with some rubbing alcohol, but frankly, I don't have the time and patience to find where I may have accidentally placed this gel sh*t. Hopefully you do, but still. Protect your stuff.Second- less is more with this stuff. Start off small. Not small like a dime size dollop of this sh*t, more like "I know this will in no way cover all of my nail, but whatevs". You can always add more to your scraper thingamajig, but believe me, it's a pain in the ass dealing with too much of this stuff. You'll wind up wasting it, and if the gel comes up over the sides of the fake shaper nail, you will have a mess on your hands.Third- speaking if this comes up over the sides of the shaper nail, just take off the excess gel with that slip stuff. Don't try to shape it around your nail. It's not worth the frustration or the curse words that will fall from your lips.Fourth- that slip sh*t the kit comes with is your friend. Use it. Don't skimp on the slip. You don't want the brush soaking in it, but you want it moist (haha-moist). Shape your tacky stuff on the shaper nail with the slip (why the hell is it call slip? Any nail technicians that wanna help an amateur out?), and shape the gel on your actual nail with the slip. Used so much slip you ran out? Use rubbing alcohol. Like I said, don't skimp.Fifth- watch youtube videos on this. For real. And not just one or two, this is a battle you need to prepare for. You need a plan of execution, a plan for battle, and a plan for retreat. Watch the hell out of those videos, especially if you're an amateur like I am.Sixth- this sh*t will take practice. My nails were all sort of funky the first time, but hey, I'm pretty alright at it. This stuff lasts, too, if you don't make it too thin (remember, comrades- less it more, and built it up like how you rebuilt your self-confidence after your freshman year of college). Mine lasted two weeks before I popped this sh*t off (excoriation disorder, remember? Better than my skin, and this junk didn't tear the sh*t out of my nails like acrylic does), and it would've lasted longer if I wasn't an ambulatory ball of constant anxiety.Final thought:This is a good product, but unless you're a nail technician and do this kind of stuff all day everyday, you're gonna need to practice. Don't go into this thinking you're the bomb dot com at this. You're gonna get frustrated, you're gonna get messy, and you're gonna curse. But if you're like me and don't have the time/patience/money to go to the nail salon every few weeks, this is going to become your friend. The kind of friend that's a pain in the ass, but a friend none the less.

Good product
Items arrived sooner than expected..took 11 days delivery to Los Angeles. Packaging wrapped nicely. There was some scuff marks on the tube of gel due to the file, but no big deal for me. The duo forms are one size smaller than numberd as original duo forms. The slip solution and gel are unscented. The color is exactly what I wanted. Will order the pink set next...i test tried it on 2 nails to start and it was a bit hard to maneuver, but all poly gels are. The 2 that I did came out perfect.

Needs some talent to make work
There's nothing overly wrong with the product, but I never made it past my first finger. The sizes of the bottles are very small, I am not sure how many applications you would get from them. I just wasn't able to figure out how to get the poly gel right and once I pressed it to my nail, it was like to all oozed out and didn't stay well. When I cured it with the UV lamp it did harden, but because of me pressing it to my nail and all the poly gel moving, it wasn't a nice solid layer on my nail. If anyone is a semi pro at this, it might work for them, but for me, it wasn't worth continuing. I didn't feel I had wasted a lot of money to keep trying, and I'll just go to the salon. I was trying to save money and do it from home, but I guess I am not technical enough to do it. LOL
