Works as advertised

I have been dealing with chronic constipation since my 20s. I’m currently 72. Senokot has been a miracle. I feel almost like a normal human being. You will have to adjust the dose. I take one tablet every other day most of the time. I weigh 120lbs. I go when I get up, then a couple of more times and am set for the day. There is some cramping and gas, but finding your dose is key. The output is normal, not loose or diarrhea. I also take a split dose of Miralax ( full disclosure). I am writing this review because so many reviewers have helped me. Another product I recommend is Renew Life Cleanse More. Works very well, but output can be weird, and the ingredients can affect your kidneys. I now keep it on hand, for just in case.

This is an effective, natural medicine for use as a laxative or stool softener. I was first perscribed Senokot when I was in a rehabilitation facility recovering from surgery and severely constipated. The only drawback for some is that it might not work immediately and may take 2 or 3 days if the problem is serious. On the other hand it may be too strong to use as a probiotic.

Common supplement but less expensive on Amazon than at grocery store or walgreens. Good product, works very well with no negative side effects. Easy to use, 1 at bedtime with water, works in morning with no pain or urgent surprise.

I’ve tried to use cheaper non brand name substitutes but they don’t work nearly as well. This is my tried and true. It works as it should and I never have gas, cramps or diarrhea. It’s gentle but also effective. I have IBS so I have been using this and will continue using to manage my symptoms.

I recommend taking this during the weekend or at a time when you know you’ll be at home. Also, the outside package, not the bottle, was completely crushed for me. Don’t know why it was delivered so cruelly. The reviews said there was no pain but I felt queasy nonetheless. Taking two tablets seems to do the job at night, but you’ll definitely hear your stomach gurgling loudly and maybe feel your gut twisting. Honestly, it’s effective for a couple of days, but then you’ll most likely be put back to your previous state if you’re someone who struggles with constipation. This will only treat it for people who deal with it occasionally. I also read someone saying it’s not the best thing to take since it has ingredients that are not helpful for the actual issue, so I’d try to find something else if you can. Something that’ll be easier on your stomach and a more organic alternative, perhaps.

I've had five surgeries on my knees and have had to take opioids for the pain which of course causes constipation. The doctors always recommend this brand and when taken as directed do not cause stomach cramps.
