Hallux Rigidus Men's/Women's Full Length Insoles, Pair

I am very happy with these insoles. After researching what could be wrong with my right foot - I came upon the conclusion that it is Hallux Rigidus. Not wanting to spend a small fortune to go to the Doctor - I ordered these instead!My pain is almost completely gone when I wear these in my tennis shoes. I am on my feet on a tile floor all day, and these have been a God send!

I really prefer these over the graphite types except that they're a bit too wide and rub the interior of the shoes producing an audible sound that drives me crazy with every step. Other than that, they are very think and light, flex perfectly, and the arch is just right for my feet. I will probably have to file the edges back a bit myself.Edited: I lowered one star because I returned the product. The insoles are just too wide. They are wider than the insoles that come with most shoes, and that is a problem. These insoles never rest comfortably on the floor of the shoe and may cause undesirable wear as a result.

The rigid insole is not particularly comfortable, but it adds a layer of protection which keeps the joint from "bending upwards" during push off while walking. This extra rigidity helped me properly align my foot straight ahead when walking (I was walking with my toe pointed in - "pigeon toe" - and my ankle bent so that I was relieving pressure/weight from the large toe joint).I have heard that it may be possible to heat the insole with a hair dryer in order to soften it up and adjust it so that it better fits my instep (make it more comfortable), but I have not tried that yet.This insole has the same effect as taping the big toe, but is a lot more convenient. Although the insole has been helpful, I am not sure that it would provide enough support to prevent injury if one were to aggressively bound up stairs or jog (let alone get involved in aerobics or other impact exercises). That being said, these insoles are an integral part of my healing process and hopefully, if the joint can repair itself in the next 4 weeks or so, I can increase the mobility by following up with physical therapy to gently remodel the joint (increase range of motion).

I did not care for these at all and sent them back.

I have special orthodics from my podiatrist that I wear when I am doing a lot of walking in my good walking shoes. What I wanted was an orthodic that I could put in my other everyday shoes that would help with the pain associated with Hallux Rigidus. The prescription ones were too thick to put in my regular shoes and the prescription inserts were also very very expensive. I decided to try these and they have worked very well. I can move them from shoe to shoe. Very happy with them

I've got arthritis in my big toe and my doctor recommended these. It does it's job at keeping my big toe pretty immobilized and they fit wonderfully in my shoes. However, the edge of the shoe rubs uncomfortably against my other toes and the underside of my foot which has caused some nasty blisters. I thought originally maybe I had the put them in the opposite shoes, but that wasn't it. It would be nice if the edge around the toes wasn't so sharp.

Wonderful for my sore big toe (Hallux Rigidis). I'm sure these inserts have saved me from needing injections and surgery right now. Sizing may be tricky. I ordered 2 sizes and ended up keeping the bigger ones. Amazon had a free returns policy when I ordered these so it was easy to return the unwanted pair.I only wear these in my running shoes. I'm female and they just don't fit in my other shoes. I've tried to get in the habit of choosing stiff soled shoes to help my problem.I wasn't sure how hard insoles would feel but they are SO COMFORTABLE. My only complaint... they squeak. sometimes its really loud. I've tried baby powder - like I said I tried the smaller size (which I think did squeak less)
