A solid and enjoyable edition to the genre.
From the start I love these types of games. Going back to PS2 days I loved baldurs gate, Bards tale etc. These types of games aren't generally that complex aren't going to have you taxing the old grey matter very much. And yes this game is very generic in many respects. It's a bit of a button masher in places. But I think it's quite well done. The stand out mechanic (which has been used before in Soul Reaver a great PS1 title) is the ability to switch between a dark realm and the 'normal' realm. You also get to control multiple characters as you progress through the game(some of which are quite interesting and a bit different, I'll say no more for anyone wanting to give this a go so as not to spoil anything).I like it overall, no it's not Diablo but it's not trying to be.There's puzzles in this game and the action isn't nearly as frenetic. The progression is good, one of my gripes is the menu system. I personally can't understand why text has to be so small( both in game and on the menu screen). Surely we could have slightly larger text? Now I'm no games designer so I could be completly wrong but I suspect not in this incredible technological world in which we live larger text I'm pretty sure is doable and would improve the experience. My second gripe is the aforementioned puzzles, some of which involve switches and rolling balls. These are a very hit and miss affair (quite literally, I've seen balls drop through solid platforms that we're definitely there in time!). It is a minor niggle and isn't a game breaker for me, but it would have been good if these bugs had been eliminated before the game was released! Maybe they'll patch it but until then(if they do) you're stuck repeating the same puzzle until you get lucky far from ideal if it's meant to be about skill ha ha.Overall if you're a fan of the genre I'd recommend this. The graphics are quite nice, not amazing but nice enough the sound is good. Tom Baker is great and in general the voice acting is good and very tongue in cheek. The storyline is OK, as long as your not expecting Game of Thrones it does adequately.Overall a solid and enjoyable offering in my opinion. Not perfect, but hey what is.

Not bad but not worth £40
I’m struggling to love this title. The pre release footage and Tom Baker’s voice participation made me preorder but it’s not calling me back to keep playing. It’s pretty enough graphically but the hum drum missions become a slog rather than an adventure. Tom Baker aside, other voice actors are lacking and even annoying at times. It’s not the Diablo replacement I was hoping for and theres a strong smell of the budget title wrapped in a premium priced package. I was trying to tell a friend about the game and I couldn’t even remember it’s name. Either my memory is starting to fail me, but more likely, I think that says a lot about this overpriced, generic dungeon crawler. Edit. Two major game breaking bugs have left me stuck. One puzzle went haywire with pieces disappearing into the walls and now a quest goal completed but trapped in a room full of gas. Eventually got out but a key graphic was not visible.

Boring
Not enough variation, Loot collecting feels unrewarding. Get Diablo instead.

Too short.
It's not a bad game. Proper dungeon crawler, that isn't too difficult on normal setting. But only 3 stars as it's very short. I got to the end and thought, is that it? There are some good puzzles, some of which people don't like as they are hard, but I cheat anyway, by looking it up on YouTube if I get stuck.Looks like Titan Quest. Plays similar, but with puzzles, which are good. It's a better game than diabolo 3, which I found boring. You reach about level 20, whereas you reach about level 40 on Titan Quest.Nothing like as good as Dragon's Dogma, you can't craft potions in this game. But for 30 bucks, it isn't bad.
