Amazing - worth the read
I bought this and then I got the audible version. I was pleasantly surprised about how deep this book really is, when looking back it seems simple but during the listen/read it was not. Very encouraging for those who have went through adversity/trauma in the past.

LOVE this book
Highly highly recommend reading this one. Don't jump to building doctrine off of it, but the allegory is a great guide towards reflecting on your relationship with God, how He has used different things in your life to shape you, and your own attitude about the difficulties life brings. It's a great story and left me so appreciative of the things God has brought me through in my own life.

Similar to 'The Pilgrim's Progress'
A lovely story about a girl named Much Afraid. I enjoyed the allegory the author uses, similar to 'Pilgrim's Progress'. It contains Scripture throughout Much Afraid's journey to the High Places where she longs to live in the Kingdom of Love with the Shepherd. As a Christian this work of fiction encouraged my heart.

Lessons to live an abundant life
I know God loves me, but through this book I felt his love fill me. I know that all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose, but this book showed me how Much-Afraid and even Sorrow and Suffering can be transformed. I know that we are transformed by the renewing of our minds, but this book showed me for what purpose I am renewed and how to make use of compassion.A must read to anyone who wants to grow in Christ and live an abundant life.

Enlightening
This book is a great read! If you have poor vision I would not recommend it because of the font size. Other than that it is a book that is written in such a way that gives you a detailed description of the follies that one will experience in life and giving names to those follies from a different perspective that we would not usually identify. It is also reassuring, encouraging and depicts Jesus as the good and faithful Shepherd he is!

Timeless Classic
I have read this book many times over the years, and find it particularly applicable in the crazy, uncertain times we are in today. The main character, Much Afraid, a handicapped, fearful shepherdess, agrees to follow the great Shepherd, to the High Places. With her assigned companions, Sorrow and Suffering, she struggles along, enduring difficulties and hardships. Will she give up or persevere?A timeless must read.

A Most Important Journey to Read About
I had read this book years ago, like forty years. I have always loved the analogy. It was a joy to read again as it indeed has been a picture of my life, and it caused me to rejoice at the looking back over my own journey. Indeed, I too travel with the companions Sorrow and Suffering, but He has brought me to the high places and the joy of giving away oneself in His love.

A mine of spiritual nourishment
I have read this book a number of times and with each reading I identify with a different part of Much-Afraid's journey. She sets of on a journey to the High Places with The Shepherd, accompanied by two companions to help her, Sorrow and Suffering. Along the way she is assaulted and waylaid by her relatives who are determined to try and prevent her from reaching the High Places - Self Pity, Pride, Resentment, Bitterness, Craven Fear... But she also has The Shepherd. This journey of growth and transformation is inspiring, deeply spiritual, uplifting and nourishing.I am not sure about the drawings in this illustrated edition, I was hoping for something that "spoke" to me in the same way the words did. They will appeal to a younger demographic. To quote the blurb at the start of this edition:There are no obstacles which our Savior’s love cannot overcome. The High Places of victory and union with Christ can be reached by learning to accept, day by day, the actual conditions and tests permitted by God, by laying down of our own will and accepting His. The lessons of accepting and triumphing over evil, of becoming acquainted with grief, and pain, and of finding them transformed into something incomparably precious; these are the lessons of the allegory in this book. The Lord God maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon mine High Places. Psalm 18:33 and Habakkuk 3:19I love reading this book and hope that more people will get the same enjoyment and spiritual fulfilment that I do on each reading.Highly recommended😊

And allegory that God has used in my life.
Hinds feet in High Places is allegory about a a young lady named Much Afraid and her journey with the Good Shepherd(Jesus). The Good Shepherd take Much Afraid on a journey and teachers her to die to self and self identity and to live for Him and others and to take on the identity of who He says she is. She starts the journey excited not expecting it to be all that hard but learns along the way that it is and she learns to die to herself and trust the Good Shepherd completely. As her continues the journey she comes to see and believe that the Good Shepherd is giving her a true identity and name but she has to complete this journey before she receives which she does and it is good. The Good Shepherd keeps all his promises

Makes me smile
One of my favourite books of all time. I have read it several times. Keep giving it away, so I have to buy it when I feel the urge to read it again, which is every couple of years. Hannah has the most gentle way of writing, I loathed the Fear family for the way they treated Much Afraid but then felt sadness and pity towards them at the end. Much Afraid's love for the Shepherd was overwhelming, It is the way I feel at the end of a book which determines whether I'll read it again and just reading the title makes me smile.

Brilliant and Inspiring
I am reading this book for the third time.It always inspires me and is so easy to read. I identify a lot with the character "Much Afraid". The story of how The Shepherd loves and transforms her thro her difficult journey is heart warming.Brilliant thing about Kindle you can highlight pieces and see just those bits. The sequel Mountains of Spices" is great to but not avaliable on Kindle.

An all time classic as relevant now as when written
The story is a wonderful allegory of the journey of transformation of experience in the hands of the chief shepherd. Woven through the narrative is the Bible's love song, the song of songs. Excellent
