David Copperfield Leather Bound – January 1, 1980

I had Great expectations (pun intended) when I ordered this particular copy. To receive this beautiful volume worthy of the Dickens story of David Copperfield will make the reading all the more pleasurable. I am one who likes the feel of a book. I understand the lure of the kindle for some but just as the vivid illustrations come to life in my imagination I do not wish to miss the weight and texture of the story. That being said I could not be more pleased unless the book was inscribed with an autograph from himself. For those of you who also love Dickens and Victorian London be sure to watch the movie. Charles Dickens, the man who invented Christmas.

My review is NOT for David Copperfield the novel -- which is brilliant.My review is for this particular kindle edition, which states it is Annotated and Illustrated.I have not seen a single illustration yet.Also, the annotations are pretty lame ... defining vocabulary words (which any kindle can do on its own).I should have stuck with the totally free kindle version, and referred to my hard copy for notes and illustrations.

I can't add anything new to David Copperfield except to say I've been reading it off and on for more than twenty years. My copy of is worn and bulging with sticky notes on my favorite passages and descriptions. I bought this volume because I've been looking for a good hardback copy for my library and I hit the jack pot with this vendor. The book is in excellent condition as advertised

Great novel, where so many topics are analyzed: love, frienship,hate, loyalty, and superb caracteres. Humor, and descriptions of London and english life. Maybe a trifle long, on account of so many descriptions both of people and places, but such was the custom at that time. Suspense and surprises.

My mom asked me to order this for my brother for Christmas.

Book was exactly as described. It came very well packaged. My daughter, who had been excitedly awaiting its’ delivery, is already curled up and reading.

The idea of rating Charles Dickens's greatest book is laughable. It is beyond being approved or disapproved by any one individual. It is a book that must be read if one is to call oneself educated.

Personal library. The book arrived in very good condition.
