Good with young kids
I've used this with pre-K through Kindergarten kids and it's a good collection of scientific experiments that serve as object lessons to illustrate Bible verses and stories. The kids enjoyed the experiments. It is a bit of a mixed bag with some experiments having more of a wow factor than others, and a few won't work. As pointed out by other reviewers, the Ex-Lax and golden rod paper experiments won't work. I can confirm that the Astrobrights Galaxy Gold WAAB57A, from Wausau Papers recommended by another reviewer does NOT work either.Overall, a good resource. I am about to start teaching through it a second time, so I obviously think it's worth.

Awesome experiments
Love this book!! Great experiments with great applications for Sunday school class and kids church. Most use regular household items but some require special items that can easily be ordered.

Some of the experiments are outdated...
I usually LOVE Tina Houser products, and highly recommend any of her other work to date. When we tried two experiments in this book, however, they both failed. Here is why:1) Goldenrod paper actually DOES have to be special (contrary to the author's note), since it was reformulated around 1998 by some paper companies and no longer includes the "special ingredient" that will cause it to turn red with ammonia. An off-website reviewer suggests this specific brand: Astrobrights Galaxy Gold WAAB57A, from Wausau Papers, which he claims does have the special ingredient. Also, stevespanglerscience.com also offers the old formulation of goldenrod paper.2) ExLax was reformulated in 1997 and no longer contains the phenolphthalein which will cause your hands to turn blood-red. So, when we attempted this experiment it didn't work. (The FDA formally banned it in OTC products in 1999, and this should've been mentioned since this book was published in 2008.)I gave it three stars, since I do anticipate to find experiments that will work out fine. The pictures and application are beautiful and well-written. I just had the bad fortune of purchasing products for two experiments that failed.

Simple Experiments that Grab Kids' Attention
These lessons are short, simple and straight to the point. I've seen a lot of these done before but it is nice to have them all compiled and at your finger tips. The lessons are short and do not take up a lot of time, which is what I was looking for. Some of the experiments work better than others. Overall, the kids have enjoyed them.

Useful tool
I was worried about whether the lessons would fit in with my lessons and be easy to use - - - yes and yes. they fit in with everyday Bible stories and they are easy to apply. For many you don't need a lot of different materials and most don't require matches or stoves or anything hot. I will be able to use this in my classroom and enjoy the process!

I love this book. It is full of science experience, that can be applied to almost bible lesson. She gives u stories, that u can applied it to, but I enjoy having the freedom of choosing my own lesson.

Wrong publication.
It said the publication was July 1, 2019. The one I received was 2008. I was debating with 2 books. The other one had a 2015 publication. I didn't pick it because this was listed as 2019. Very disappointed.
