TL;DR: Does the job for what it’s intended, and it is much more reasonably priced than the “official” cable from Meta. The PD works well with the power supply that came with the headset, which is nice for longer sessions. A bit more detail: I ordered this at the same time that I ordered a Quest 3, since I wasn’t sure about how I was going to use the headset for PCVR. I have an aging PCIe4.0 Gigabyte Mobo, in a case with USB-A 3.2 ports. This cable worked perfectly using the headset with Meta Quest Link. That said, my main PCVR workflows are with SteamVR. Through trial and testing, I found that the best experience with SteamVR is to use the SteamVR Link app on the headset. It connects to my PC via WIFI and works very well. There is no need to be tethered to the PC and it offers a bit more freedom while playing. Summary: If you need a USB-A to USB-C cable for your VR setup, this cable is a decent solution. The PD option to keep devices like the Quest 3 charged while playing is a huge plus for longer gaming sessions. That said: if you’re a Quest 3 user and you have a good home network topology and WIFI setup, you might just want to use the Meta Air Link, or Steam VR Link offering instead. Cutting the tether to the PC is really nice, and there are other battery pack options to keep your headset charged while playing. Even though I found I don’t use this cable when using my headset with PCVR, I’m glad I have it just in case I ever find I might need to go back to tethering.

works really well i have it for a year now and it hasn't failed on me yet, works well with a high wattage charger so it keep my headset charged while playing so i can play for how long i want. just be sure to get a good charger. Overall really great product and you're getting exactly what you're looking for.

Update of my review from one to five stars. The Company was very responsive to my initial review. They wanted to make it right. I received a full refund in less than two weeks. I intend to order a replacement, ordering this exact same item because I believe this product is well designed and well made. Since electronics are never 100 % all the time, I believe this problem was somewhat unique. Keeping the battery charged on my Quest 3 headset while competing in glider races in Condor 3 is of critical importance and this product resolves that issue. I have upgraded my review from one start to five stars. Original one star review: Purchased in Nov 2024. Worked ok for about 60 days, but now (Jan 2025) the Bandwidth, as reported by the Meta Quest Link App, is less than 370 Mbps. Video in headset has become erratic. I am searching for a more reliable cable.

Update: I just ended up with a bad one. They stood by the product and offered a replacement, but I don't really use the headset with the computer anymore. Bulky and didn't really work well. When plugged into headset and laptop I keep getting the connect and disconnect sound, over and over until I rip it out in aggravation, and the headset was much laggier with it than without. Frequently with it plugged in, it would take FOREVER to record a mouse movement, and kept freezing up on me.

I was a little worried because people in the reviews said their headset wasn’t charging while playing sessions but as soon as I got it I hooked it up I used one of my best chargers I have to connect it to the cable. That day I just got my new quest 3 so the battery was very low like 20%. I used the cable and the cable and the charging worked perfectly I was playing hard bullet on steam vr via quest link and the connection was beautiful. It went from 20% to 43% within 30 minutes of playing now that’s a big win at least it’s not draining while playing so you can literally play forever. Also the cable has a smart chip to slow charge the headset when it’s past 65% so if your headset is 100% and you plug it up be aware that it will drain to 65% but that’s a good thing the battery isn’t stressed when at lower percentages so you have longevity. I’m impressed with the price, it’s a very good deal. So far it’s durable, I’ve been using another syntech cord for my quest 3s but the battery kept dying so I would definitely get this if you play for long sessions like I do sometimes.

I've had this cable going on about a month and a half now?... Idunno read the purchase date above. Hhe. I had no problems using the charger I got with the quest 3s to connect in-line. I don't know much about pcvr yet but it's nice having a cord plugged in that keeps my gameplay going. I need to throw more time at it. Thick cable and decent durability. I like that they included the Velcro type strap that holds the cable along the left side of the quest without interfering with the ability and comfort of using a full over the ear headphones. My buddy tried it out on his setup with pcvr and had no problems. I'm confident it's going to last me a while and suite my needs.

Nice setup just use the velcro thing to wrap around the ear part to make a stress relief or rout it back around the strap at least. Note to Quest 3 Owners If your headset it fully charged when you start or over 70 something precent. The Quest will not be in fast charge mode at this point this is part of the quest not the cagble. The battery will drain like this regardless the size/power of the adapter. To Fix this just unplug/replug the power brick / charger from the cable or replug the cable into the headset.

Not enough charging power to keep headset up during normal use. Had to by a different charger altogether to confirm it wasn't the headset. Also it only sees it as a charging cable and not a link cable.

I've been using it for 4 days and everything is perfect. It worked right away, it hold the charge really well, I didn't have to charge it once so far and I played a good amount of times. Without the cable I probably would have had to charge it at least 10-15 times already but after 4 days I'm still over 60% and most of the uncharged % is due to me playing unplugged a bit. I have a 5800x3d with a 2060super, I get easily 120fps at 120hz. I'm using usb port 3.1, I ran two cable test, I got 2.0 and 2.1 gbps. No complain so far everything is perfect.

High quality cable but do be careful of the charge rate. This is a very premium charge cable, coming in at 4.8 meters it is way long enough to reach the back of a PC if needed and then some. I will however say be careful not to leave this connected to your quest overnight, i have a quest 2 which can normally take up to 15 watt, this is generally limited by your wall plug, however with this cable taking power from the inline connector for the wall plug and also the power delivered over USB format the PC it can effectively push this above the 15 watt. I tested this and reached a 20.4 watt peak charge rate, we have all seen the melted USB C pictures on the quest, hence dont leave it plugged in. If there is one thing i would have liked to see on this cable which is not present would have been a cable clip to attach the cable to the head band, this cable does weigh a fair bit so does need this weight taking off the charge port on the quest and transfering to the band. this thought hands down beats the OEM version price wise so is a 5 star cable.
