INTRODUCING THE ARRIS G20 CABLE MODEM ROUTER COMBO! YOU HAVE FOUND YOUR MODEM! ☑️
Hello fellow Amazon Prime members! I wanted to give a review on the Arris G20 Cable Modem Router Combo and I must say, this modem is AMAZING! I was doing a lot of research for the past few months because I needed a newer modem to be able to do the things I wanted to do. This modem by Arris offers all that and more! The installation was super easy! I have Xfinity and setting it up through Xfinity app was a breeze! Even though the Arris G20 looks small, it packs a punch delivering robust speeds to the internet with it's Wifi 6 technology! This modem gives you both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz! The key features I was looking for in a modem was "would I be able to control it through the Arris Surfboard app itself" and it does! I can't begin to tell you all the other reviews I read on other brands and models that people was not happy with! Before buying this model, I had purchased a Motorola MG8702 and it was a fail for me, no network support, no ability to control settings through the app, nothing, lol! Then comes along the Arris G20 Surfboard! You can set up profiles for your entire family and this is really helpful if you have kids! You can set time limits, add their gadgets, turn the internet off and on when you need to and just simple to use parental controls all through the app! All in all, this is a really good modem, you won't be disappointed! Ok, time for some NFL NFC AFC Championship 🏆 Football Sunday💪🏈 Thank you Amazon🥳 Ok, have to go guys! Have a wonderful, safe and blessed day! ☺️🙏

Horrible. Waste of money..
Don’t buy. The ap is hard to use and annoying to set up. Right away Arris had “cloud” issues when i had to call to finish the set up. My tv now has grainy pictures and the streaming aps load slowly. Cant use YouTube at the moment. I regret purchasing this over priced piece of crap. Small apartment and it cant reach all the rooms. I waited too long to set it up so now i cant return it. Huge waste of money.

An excellent modem, BUT
A very good modem with an ok app control center once you get it set up. However, a word of warning. It may have just been my luck of the draw but the first modem i recieved was very defective. It took a couple of days of tinkering and an hour of call time in customer service to find that the reason why it wouldn't keep devices on the network and could only talk to google websites was because on a hardware level it was just built wrong. Given the hopeful idea that this was a crazy case of bad luck i would recommend this modem, but i can't help but feel burned by that first experience. Also the modem only comes with a quick-start card and not any kind of manual to troubleshoot with which means if you need help as to why your device can't get online you need to... Get online to go to customer support or grab a pdf manual which if you don't have mobile data to spare is incredibly stupid. And as a "bonus" the quick start card doesn't even list a phone number as an alternative method of customer support.

Very disappointing with Cox
Worked well for 6 months. Intermittent drops since. The last week it dropped up to 9 times per day with Cox. Oddly it was after AWS outage but all drops were during business hours. Yesterday Cox did maintenance in my area. It's been dropping every couple hours since at so hours of the day/night. Maybe a Cox issue, may be a firmware issue that I have no control over, as I've been told Cox initiates firmware updates. Doesn't matter to me as a paying customer and remote worker who relies on stable Internet for a paycheck. Less than 1 year of owning and an now having to get separate modem router in hopes that will work. Arris-if it isn't you product, perhaps you should not allow Cox to have it as a certified piece of equipment if it does not work as intended with their service because it's hurting your reputation. Very frustrating for consumers with minimal networking knowledge. We want plug and play and based on your description, this is what I should have received after paying for your product. My last modem lasted a few years and even it was not this bad before needing replacement. I do hope all you products are not like this as I'm considering buying a straight Arris modem with a nighthawk router.

Xfinity tech support nightmare
Wow, what a tech support adventure! Got the G20 cable modem router yesterday. Hooked it up this morning and.....nada. no connectivity. Good lights, seems to be online but would not pass traffic. I'm a former internet/ HSI installer and supervisor so I know my way around the block. I went back to my old Netgear modem with no issues. After 2 hours of messing with the Arris, I called Xfinity to have them manually activate it. Three more hours of doing everything I had been doing. Power up, down, hard factory reset, new cables, new outlet, nothing. Went up to tier 3 tech support. They couldn't ping the modem or do a trace route. They told me I had a bad modem. I called Arris and talked to their tech support. Went through the whole merry go round again. They at least could ping the modem but couldn't provision it. It wouldn't accept commands. They thought I had Xfinity telephone on my account. I called Xfinity tech support again and asked if somehow I had phone on my account. An hour later i was up. Good connectivity, no drop outs and very stable connections on a 500 mb/s service down, 35 up. God modem so far but don't buy if you have Xfinity voice or need their tech support! Arris tech support is great so if you have installation problems I'd start there before trying Xfinity. I can't comment yet on how long this unit will last. More to follow.

Good little cable modem - router/gateway
Purchased this about 3 months ago and its working good with no issues. Wifi and ethernet (ports) are very reliable, and has an admin control panel with all the security features. You can also enable/disable or adjust the wifi radio signal strength if needed. A good value for the price. Id buy another one if i had the need.

Defective, slow and spotty service
Would not establish a 5G WiFi network. Download speed was 37mbps and it kept dropping its 2.4G signal. Service is meant to be 800mb speed. Signal dropped about every 18 minutes. Was using with Xfinity, it’s recommended by them as being compatible and it’s on the packaging. However, troubleshooting is very difficult because I have to activate the modem through Xfinity, then troubleshoot through Arris. Took several hours to set up. After a day of spotty WiFi on the 2.4G network, I went back to my old modem that’s over 8 years old and spent a few hours re-activating that though Xfinity. The old one works fine. Not sure if this unit was defective or if it’s the product. Big waste of time and not worth the hassle.

Have Faith in Yourself
I bought this February 2025, and I was too busy to activate it, and when I did on Sept 2025 it would not work the first time. I kept trying and trying working with Cox Communication. The first day I tried on my desk top PC and that coaxial cable, but no luck. I thought I was out of luck/money. I tried connecting at least 6 times. I was very frustrated. The next day I moved the device to another coaxial spot and a lap top, called Cox, and finally the Router/Modem connected! I changed my rating on this to different one because we never know what the problem is if the device does not work. Even to this day I'm not sure why it did not work the first time.
