Was more than a gift
All my 14 yr old son with aspergers wanted for Christmas was a koala. I didn't know why. But I knew that I was getting him some sort of koala! I thought this was the hardest gift I would to shop for for any of my 5 kids over the years. I needed a koala that wasn't "babyish", or "girly", I needed something a teen boy would love for at least a couple of years and intrigue a boy with a mind like his. I also was shopping 4 days b4 Christmas. It didn't take long till I saw this and I knew this was his Koala!However because of my last minute shopping it would not arrive till weeks later. Since he lives with dad and I hardly see him I found a small plush koala and write a note explaining the real koala was coming later he was just holding his place. So on Christmas day he had a gift to unwrap he opened up the koala read the note and was in tears. I then learned why a koala was on his wish list. I had forgotten about the last time I had bought him a koala, years ago... My little boy needing something to hug during a scary time. Actually something I didn't even know he cherished or had emotional attachments to. that made me even more excited and anxious for this koala to show up cuz I knew then that I made the right decision.when it finally came it actually showed up about a week earlier than it said that was cool. My son received it the same day my adult son was placing some puppies him and his girlfriend couldn't house anymore at their father's house. but even with all those cute puppies and all that commotion my son took that box and set up this koala and it's been set up ever since and he loves it.Because of my son's condition we don't have much of a connection anymore. This has made a good one and new memories with a new koala!
