White Lightning Clean Ride Lube Oil

I'm one of these people who keeps their bike immaculate. If I'm going to spend close on £1k on a bike, then it's going to stay clean! Keeping the drivetrain clean was always a pain. I'd be out with brushes, WD40, degreaser, soapy water etc after every ride, then re-lube with regular (but decent!) bike oil. Just a couple of short rides later and it would all be black and grimey again. I saw this stuff, read the reviews, and had to give it a go.It's a wax based lubricant in a paraffin (or similar) suspension, so it drips onto your chain easily (no real waste if you're careful) and then the liquid evaporates and leaves a nice wax lube over everything - mostly clear, only shows as white in some areas where its thicker.It feels smoother to ride than ever before - quieter and shifting beautifully. But the best bit, you get home and the drivetrain still looks clean!It still picks up a bit of dirt of course, but no-where near as much as when using regular (sticky) oil.You do have to re-apply quite often - in my case i've found every 50 miles or so, but you don't need much and it's easily applied so it's no problem.This is my 2nd order of this stuff - 4oz bottle the first time and now 8oz - clearly i'm pleased with it!

I admit to possibly being a little OCD with my chain, and this is an excellent item in keeping it clean. Shake the bottle and it flows on as a thin milk like liquid, gets everywhere, then dries white, like you applied tip ex to the chain. Spin the chain backwards a few times whilst holding a rag on the chain as it slips through your fingers. Job done. Go for a ride and be amazed at how clean the chain is after the ride. The white substance falls off taking with it dirt and grime. Rub the chain with an oily rag and thats it.

Good product, does what it says on the can. Good price compared with our local cycle shop.

Brought up in an age when '3 in 1' did everything, I find modern cycle lubricants a revelation, and this product is no exception. Can also be used to clean the chain, but this would be rather expensive. Everything runs quietly and smoothly with this product. Good 'how to' videos on line.

Brilliant product. Works best on a clean chain (I use a Park tool which negates the need to remove the chain from the bike). Once it's clean, along with the rest of the drive train, I apply this to both the top and bottom of the chain and leave it to dry.Works a treat, and completely silent running of my drivetrain.

- wax suspended in a spirit-based liquid formed a layer on the chain and was shed (with the dirt) when cycling.- the chain was left dry (?causing increased wear due to metal on metal) and the gunk that was shed from the chain clogged up the gear change.- I will return to a more lubricating oil and resume the routine of washing the dirt off the chain; there is no substitute for regular cleaning.

Great stuff yhin coating and does the job

Perfect for easy maintenance with benefits of wax. Other wax options are tedious and require chain removal. This is perfect option if you ride in dry conditions and are sensible enough to follow the instructions. Recoat every few hundred km and it will be fine on your chain. It is not a apply once and forget about it solution. Not ideal for the wet/dirt conditions, but doesn't profess to either! Those that don’t like it didn't read the instructions.Excellent support from velogear as bottle had spilt in transit.

I tried it since I read reviews on how it self cleans. However I don't notice an improvement over Purple Extreme which I used to use. The lubricant was also a lot thinner than I expected, which made me spray it everywhere when I first tried it. The lubricant also seems to pick up a lot more dirt and grime than my previous lubricant too.

it leaves wax-like lubrication after the kerosene evaporates, so make sure the environment you will be riding before purchase

Been using it for mainly for Summer riding and find it fantastic for keeping my chain lubricated and running smoothly. Apply and wipe off excess. Every 1-2 rides, depending on how dirty the chain gets, wipe off the muck and keep riding. Maintenance application is about once a week.

......Produkt. Ohne wenn und aber. Das beste Kettenschmiermittel dass ich ne benutzt habe. In der Applikation herausfordernd, da dünn wie Wasser.

I use this stuff exclusively, but first time ordering from Amazon. Both bottles came with broken caps, making the caps useless. Had to shove a nail in the opening to seal it for further use.

Awesome product, lived up to it's expectation! But don't over tighten the cap, it breaks suuuuuuper easy!!

Can't speak for the lubricant but the internal piece of the safety cap broke the first time I opened it. The cap is now useless since I can't close the bottle. Still trying to figure out a solution.-- UPDATE nov 5th -- great working product. Long lasting even in poor weather. Would buy again. Id just be extra carefull with the cap on first use...

I like that the sand just bounces of this chain lube...keeps chain clean and dry and lubricated....

Bon produit, mais le flacon a fuit pendant le transport.Le flacon est vendu dans un sac plastique, ce qui est surprenant au 1er abord.En l'ouvrant, je m'aperçois que 1/3 du produit a fuit pendant le transport, la cire blanche et séchée recouvre l’extérieur du flacon et du sac plastique.Dommage

Too clean that I don't know if it's working or not. Usually you can see the grease on the chain but with this, you can't see anything except a white film around the chain.

Man muss es recht regelmäßig/häufig auftragen, das ist der kleine Nachteil, ansonsten super Ketteschmiere ohne Geschmiere.Ich hatte auch mal ein ähnliches Produkt der Firma Dynamic ausprobiert und bin dadurch ein überzeugter und froher Stammkunde von Clean Ride geworden.

Not easy to apply. Spills very very easily.My chain didn't feel lubed even with me applying it for every ride

Bin sehr zufrieden damit. Man muss zwar öfter aiftragen als bei Öl, aber dafür bleiben Kette und Ritzel sauber.

Great lube! Works great, however needs to be reapplied after every ride or two rides. Seems kinda light.
