Surprising!
Excellent antenna for SWL while in an apartment. I threw this on an extendable tripod lighting pole and I just set it outside whenever I wanna listen. Surprisingly good unit. RTL dongle will run this a little better with its bias t than the included bias t will.

Absolute TRASH
This thing is a nightmare to get the coil to open up as a round coil. It twists and will not open up correctly. Bought one of these a while back and it worked fine. Apparently this supplier uses very poor quality wire that will NEVER NEVER open fully. Waste of money!!

Good so far
My experience with this antenna is positive. I did a comparison with a long wire and this antenna. Absolutely made a difference . The biggest difference is that it lowers the noise floor. It is directional. As far as complaints I read about as being hard or impossible to build, I found that it does seem unwieldly when you remove the restraints. But if you first attach the the amplifier to the wire antenna, it tames it making it easier to handle. If you cut a slot at the top of your PVC pipe or what ever you use, just slip the wire in the slot and pull down the amp to where you want to mount it on the PVC pipe. Make sure you allow slack to be able to form a loop. I used a wooden dowel with slots on both ends mounted horizontally to stabilize the whole thing, securing it in the center of the circle. Easy peezy.

Works well but you have to set it up correctly
I initially was not impressed. The Eire loop did not form a circle and seemed to coil on its self. Once I figured out how to get it on a pole it took some what of s circle shape. After hooking it up to my radio I was again less than impressed. But after setting the SDRUNO and adjusting the gain, I started to heard a lot of signals noise floor is about -110 compared to my non amplified longwire ( actually a short wire maybe 25-30 ft ) that has typical noise floor of about -90 to - 75. My opinion changed. I like this antenna I have mounted in my attic. There is some hacks that can be done to improve it search online. The one I like and will probably do is change out the cable to RG-58 vice the small stuff that it comes with.

I don't know how it works, it just works, (nicely).
I'm an insomniac so I DXed last night and picked up SW from all over the globe. Glad my previous review didn't go through about a missing connector, found it, doh! Put a smaller dowel in perpendicular with a couple of slot to make it more circular, can't wait to see what I get tonight! This antenna deserves the great reviews it gets!

Needs another part.
They only supply a jumper, from the Amp to the radio with a male SMA end. Must shortwave radios, I know, take a BNC connector. So, you will need either a different jumper or an sma yo bnc adapter.
