This review is for 3 different colors of these “BUBOS 6 Pack Large Acoustic Panels,48x12Inch SoundProof Panels” Colors Camel, Black and White. The last 20 years of my career were spent selling acoustical ceilings and wall treatment products so I know too much about this subject.Firstly, you really need to understand what these panels are for, as the manufacturer, I believe due to language differences is misrepresenting their purpose and abilities. These panels Do Not “Soundproof” a room, as in isolate the sound from traveling into an adjacent room. The most effective way to do that is with dense material, such as a second layer of drywall on the walls and ceiling. These panels are “Sound Absorbers” which are to reduce the echo or reverberation of sound within a specific space, and they are not dense at all. Clap your hands together to see just how “Live” the echo in a space is. Then place some of these panels “in the right areas” and clap again to see if they are effective. You may need to experiment this way and move the panels around to find the most effective placement or quantity needed. If you had a perfectly square or slightly rectangular room, it is most effective to place wall sound absorbers such as these on walls next to each other or perpendicular. So, on the front wall and at least one side wall. That’s not to say that placing some on a third and fourth wall will not have a positive effect, but at a minimum, place them on two walls next to each other. Sound waves will bounce around a room like a hyper energetic superball bouncing back and forth between walls, windows, ceiling and floor, that’s an echo. These panels are to give that sound less reflective surface to bounce off of and hopefully trap a percentage of it. Think of bouncing a Super Ball on a hardwood floor versus bouncing that ball on a carpet. These panels are a decorative alternative to that carpet … on the wall! Unfortunately for me, the TV room space I am trying to reduce the echo in is quite large with minimal walls without windows and high ceilings and hardwood floors, all bad for sound bouncing around and creating an echo which makes it difficult to understand speech during movie watching. These panels however do work at reducing that level of echo so hopefully they would work in a less complicated physical space than mine.The products have a complete peal and stick adhesive backing so be sure they are where you want them when you stick them. I am currently using some of the removable 3M adhesive pads on the non-pealed back of these panels until I am certain of where I want them. Be aware that these are probably Metric dimensions and slightly smaller than 12” x 48” each. I get 11 7/8” x 47 3/8” actual. The white and black are both color all the way through so cutting will not cause them to chip or look poorly, but the Camel color is a surface paint on a white core and not in the grooves, so it could chip or show damage more easily. Also, be aware that you Do Not want to paint these panels if you truly need them to absorb soundwaves. This can only be done with a very special non-bridging paint which allows soundwaves to pass through it. Your typical paint available locally will totally eliminate the absorbing ability of these panels.

I purchased these panels for my new gaming setup and they work great at adding a nice backdrop. They’re relatively lightweight but still sturdy enough where it doesn’t flex. The back adhesive covers the entire panel and sticking it onto drywall, it adheres pretty strongly. It would take some effort to remove. I don’t know if it’ll peel off paint but when applying one panel I had to slightly pull back on it to adjust and didn’t notice any paint coming off.Installation is easy enough and these panels are an easy way to get some simple sound damping. They look great and would highly recommend them.

I put these up in my husband's room because even though we sleep in separate rooms due to his extreme snoring, the snoring is still so loud. I put these panels up by his bed (where kids room is on the other side) and on the wall where my room is on the other side. I can still hear him but the sound is so muffled it's like he's sleeping far away over a mountain somewhere vs. before it was like he was sleeping on the other side of a piece of cardboard.

These are lightweight enough to affix to the wall with very small nails. I am renting and don’t want to glue them to the walls. I bought white and they look nice in the office. My son streams and he says it dampens the noise in the room and reduces echo. I recommend this product for light noise reduction. We bought 2 packages and they are great!

The first set was nice and white. This set is grey tinted. I was hoping with the lighting it would not be noticeable, but it is. I'm going to try to get a replacement and pray it's actually white like the first batch I bought. I was planning to use this as a background and sound muffling for virtual video calls.Update: Tried to swap a box of the grey for white, got another grey. They must have changed something in the production. I'm disappointed but I need the sound dampening so I'm just rolling with it. Beware if you are doing a larger area with multiple boxes, your panels might not match.

I like these panels there easy to work with a little difficult to remove the adhesive from the paper backing but to be expected.Nice Product.
