Quality stainless reducer bushings
These look like good quality stainless steel reducer bushings. I own a pressure washing business, and we are constantly using bushings like these to go from 1/2" to 3/8" for our hoses. For example, the hose reels usually have a 1/2" outlet and the hose is 3/8". We prefer stainless as chemical will be run through these, so that's a plus. Comparing them to bushings I've bought over the last decade in business, I'd say these look really good. One thing I would prefer is that the bushings be tapered inside, because obviously I want them to flow as much as possible. Every little bit makes a difference. They have a flat shelf inside where the threads end, and a very flat bottom, which may disrupt flow. I may even ream them to give a little taper before using. It might not seem like much, but in a business where FLOW IS KING, every place we can NOT put a restriction or disruption in flow matters. If you're just using them for hydraulic fittings and such, it may not matter as much, but we want every drop of water to flow as fast as possible in our business. For that I gave them 4 out of 5 stars, but again, these are quality fittings and I would definitely recommend them.

Usable after cleanup, but rough threads and sealing hassles make these a miss for me
I picked up this set as simple stainless reducers for a small project. On paper they are basic adapters. In hand they needed more work than they were worth. Out of the box the threads were a little torn up with small burrs and rough spots. I had to chase each fitting with a brush and gently clean the starts before they would even begin to seat. That was disappointing for something this simple. Once I could get them to start, the engagement felt tight and a bit on the fine side compared with other reducers I have used. The included Teflon tape did not cut it. I could not get a leak free joint with the tape that came in the package, and the fittings felt reluctant to pull in smoothly with tape on the male threads. I switched to Permatex thread sealant and that finally let me bring the joint together and get a proper seal. That solved the leak, but I should not need to change products just to make brand new adapters usable. Build is otherwise what you would expect at this price. The bodies appear to be stainless, the hex faces are clean enough for a wrench, and the sizes are accurate. Once sealed with paste the adapters did the job. They are now in place and holding. The path to get there was more effort than it should have been for simple bushings. Notes from my install • Inspect the threads closely before you start. Knock down any burrs and clean the starts so they do not cross. • If the joint refuses to seal with tape, move to a paste sealant that is compatible with stainless. • Do not force the first turn. Back off and restart if the fitting feels like it is cutting its own path. Why I am at two stars • Thread finish was rough on arrival and required cleanup. • The included tape did not work for me and I had to switch to Permatex to stop leaks. • Engagement felt fussy and not as smooth as other reducers I own. I managed to make these work for my use case, but I should have just returned them. They are simple adapters that needed extra time and better sealant to behave. I would not recommend this set.
