Very good book for someone that wants to learn how to sail. Simple and easy to understand step-by-step process. If you wish more detailed information on sailing, the author has provided an excellent appendix with additional details.

Bought this to introduce a friend to sailing but focus is on many silly/irrelevant topics without really good instruction on "how to" or the basic concepts. Look for other options.

Too much detail and too many assumptions about what can be remembered in too little space.

This book is amazing! I never even stepped foot on a boat while reading but I've already been able to hold up conversations with real sailors. A great addition to any experienced sailors' knowledge and a must for any beginner. The title does not lie!

I have read many books on how to sail and this book is one of the better ones. It tells you everything you need to know about sailing in an easy to read, concise way. It will be good to keep on board as a quick reference book. There are so many things to learn about sailing and this book tells you everything without being overwhelming. It is both simple and complete at the same time. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is thinking about learning to sail.
